Big, bigger, Software Wall of Fame: For the very first time, we at OMR Reviews present OMR Festival the best softwares in Germany on this enormous surface. The 42x15 meter banner represents the largest advertising space on the entire fairground in Hamburg. “The dimensions are meant to show how much attention our partners, some of whom have been part of OMR Reviews since the start of our review platform three years ago, deserve,” OMR co-founder Christian Müller explains the significance of our Wall of Fame.

These softwares are included

In total, 42 softwares are featured on the Wall of Fame. Each one is thus also the leader of its respective main category, such as HR, AI, Shipping, Marketing Analytics, Social Media Suites or Mobile Marketing. Softwares are measured as leaders of a category on OMR Reviews by the average rating and the number of their reviews (as of March 2023).
The number of softwares depicted is only a fraction of what is now available on our review platform: “Software seekers can find the right tool with us in over 200 categories”, explains Christian Müller. “With our new Wall of Fame, we also want to provide incentives for other software providers to be part of the OMR Festival.” Software providers can register for this via the QR code on the banner or via this page.

Project Management
Project management solutions aid users in managing team goals and long-term projects, as well as coordinating individual tasks. In a nutshell: they assist project managers in planning and executing their projects. Among other things, this can enhance personal and team productivity, tasks can be clearly divided and individually allocated, and progress can be tracked. Furthermore, schedules can be created and viewed at any time. Thanks to integrated chat functions, teams remain in constant contact. Especially in larger projects, project management solutions can contribute to ideally coordinating tasks. They can be used in every industry in principle. Some solutions are more focused on planning (calendars, to-do lists, milestones, etc.), while others are more focused on collaboration (forums, chats, whiteboards, etc.). However, there are also hybrid solutions available. The key here is which solution best suits one's own or the company's needs. In many cases, it may also make sense to combine multiple solutions. Good to know: Project management solutions are closely related to task management solutions, but they differ in size and scope. While the former ensure that users can manage teams of individuals, plan resources sensibly, and measure effectiveness, the latter merely show individual efforts and deadlines and ensure that projects can be managed autonomously.
Agency
Agency software helps agencies manage all operational and project-related processes within one tool. Agency employees can manage and delegate projects and tasks, create and calculate offers, process orders, create schedules and calendar entries, record hours, conduct controlling, operate accounting, and plan vacations and capacities in these software. Moreover, many software for agencies offers features for Customer Relationship Management (CRM), document management, and email integration. Most agency software solutions are cloud-based and therefore can be used regardless of the operating system of the end device. Various types of agencies, like media agencies, advertising agencies, press agencies, design agencies, event agencies, etc., use these tools. Individual agency software provides special functions for, for example, event management or media asset management. Because of their wide range of functions, agency software acts as a Swiss Army knife in daily agency operations, as they largely map all processes within a specific agency. This not only avoids the use of further software, like accounting software, document management systems or CRM systems, but also offers the great advantage of a uniform database. In addition, agency tools help improve transparency and collaboration within an agency. To qualify as agency software, the solution must: * provide all functions necessary to handle a large part of the tasks and business processes arising in an agency * enable collaboration within the agency
Time Tracking
Time Tracking software enables the precise and systematic recording of employees' working and attendance times. It documents the start and end of working hours, breaks, overtime, shifts, as well as vacation and absence times. These solutions are essential for accurate payroll processing and compliance with legal working time regulations. The primary target audience includes HR departments, small and medium-sized enterprises, and businesses with shift work or manual clock-in requirements. The main benefit lies in optimizing HR processes, ensuring compliance, and creating transparency in working time documentation. To be included in the Time Tracking category, a solution should have the following features: - Work Time Tracking: Precise recording of work start, end, breaks, and other relevant time data. - Absence Management: Administration and approval of vacation, sick days, and other types of absence. - Overtime Management: Automatic recording and calculation of overtime and compensatory time off. - Shift Planning and Management: Support for creating and organizing work schedules and shifts. - Compliance Reporting: Generation of reports to ensure adherence to legal working time regulations and documentation requirements.
Spend Management
Spend Management Software or Expenditure Management Software tracks and manages business expenses that arise from business activities aimed at conducting business and generating profit. These include expenses arising from the company's suppliers and procurements such as production materials or services and subscriptions received, but not salary expenses. The goal of Spend Management is to capture, document, and manage all expenditure-related activities from the source to the settlement of the invoice. This way, all company purchases can be made on schedule and suppliers can be paid on time. Expenditure management software facilitates the capture and analysis of business expenses, sometimes even with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). They reduce the effort in managing variable costs, help avoid excessive expenses, and assist in expenditure analysis. This can optimize procurement processes and save resources such as time and money. Furthermore, companies can ensure that all business expenses are correctly accounted for and taken into account in annual financial statements. Expenditure management software is particularly used in procurement departments, but often offers connections to accounting software and is related to supply chain management software and financial planning software.
Email Marketing
Marketers use email marketing software to design, personalize, and send promotional emails or newsletters to appropriate target groups. While emails containing advertising content are usually directed at individual people and small groups, regular newsletters are often sent to all contacts or specific customer segments. Since many contacts can be reached very cost-effectively, email marketing is a very exciting channel that continues to enjoy great popularity. The functions included in email marketing software vary depending on the provider. In principle, however, marketers can use newsletter software to design and create bespoke emails using HTML and CSS. As a rule, the providers of email marketing software also provide easy-to-use, visual editors that can be used to implement emails and newsletters without any prior scripting knowledge. When sending newsletters, it is not only security that is important, but also legal compliance. It is therefore incredibly important that email marketing tools include functions that comply with the extensive data protection laws in certain countries, such as the GDPR in Germany. This includes, for example, that all recipients must have agreed to receive the emails with a double opt-in. In addition to the creation and sending of targeted marketing emails, email marketing tools can be used to segment recipients, manage newsletter cancellations, and track open rates, dwell time, and link clicks. Email marketing tools are often integrated with CRM software or the tools themselves act as CRM systems. This expands the segmentation functions that are usually already available in email marketing software, and recipients can be targeted even more accurately. In addition, email marketing is often a crucial component of marketing automation software, which is why the software occasionally appears in both categories. To qualify as email marketing software, the solution must: * enable the creation and sending of emails or newsletters via an HTML or WYSIWYG editor * offer a selection of email templates * give users the option to preview the email and send it as a test email * save, manage, segment, and track email contact lists * provide campaign-based reports and analyses If you want to further your education in email marketing and learn from experts, then the OMR Professionals Guide to E-Mail-Marketing is just right for you! Whatsapp Marketing
WhatsApp Marketing Software refers to a category of digital solutions specialized in optimizing, managing, and automating marketing activities via the popular messaging service WhatsApp. The benefits of this type of software extend across various business areas and aim to facilitate and make both the communication between companies and customers and internal communication and management processes more efficient. The focus is on using WhatsApp as a medium to deliver marketing messages targeted at a broad audience or specific customer segments. This can be done, for example, by sending messages, offers, product updates, or customer service information. Since WhatsApp has an enormous user base of over two billion people worldwide, it is a strategically significant platform for many brands and businesses to effectively reach and interact with their target audiences. To be included in the category of WhatsApp Marketing Software, a solution should have the following features and qualities: * Automated communication: The ability to send automated messages or campaigns to individual users or user groups. * Contact and list management: Effective management and segmentation of contacts and user lists to enable targeted communication. * Interaction management: Capabilities to regulate and manage interactions with users, including automated responses and chatbots. * Analysis and reporting: Provision of tools for analyzing the performance of sent messages and campaigns, including open rates, clicks, and conversions. * Compliance and data protection: Ensuring that communication and data management are in line with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and WhatsApp policies.
Content Management Systeme (CMS)
A Content Management System (short: CMS) enables collaborative creation, editing, organization, publication and display of texts, videos, graphics, and any other forms of digital content on and for websites. Most users work on an easy-to-use graphical user interface that requires no or very little programming or HTML knowledge, and in pre-designed templates that simplify the creation, upload and visually appealing presentation of content. At the same time, several people with different functions usually work in a CMS, so that content can also be optimally edited and managed by different people. A Content Management System is therefore an easy-to-use system for managing the content for a website and probably the simplest solution for online management of content made up of texts and media files. Special solutions from the area and integrations with software from other areas can also ensure that the pages built with the CMS are optimised for various factors directly. Many content management systems offer integrations with shopping systems and marketing software such as SEO tools or content marketing tools. Some CMS also have features for digital asset management and web design.
