What did you like?

WorkMotion really is the all-in-one solution if you’re planning to work abroad. My payroll always arrives on time—never had a delay. I’m based in Spain and honestly have no clue how most of the bureaucracy works here, but their local experts take care of everything. I recently went on parental leave and it couldn’t have been easier. I just opened a ticket and it was all handled super quickly. After seeing how smooth it was for me, two of my friends decided to use WorkMotion too.

What did you not like?

Trust me when I say I have nothing to dislike about Workmotion. After 3 years of use I can't complain about any thing they are in charge of.

What did you like?

We chose WorkMotion to support our international new hire after initially considering WorkGlobal. We ultimately decided to go with a direct employment model for greater flexibility, and WorkMotion seamlessly stepped in to handle the transition. Their customer service team was responsive and helpful, especially when we needed a direct deposit refunded to our bank account rather than issued as a credit—they resolved it smoothly without complications. The platform is user-friendly, and the team has been great to work with.

What did you not like?

I had some confusion around how the payroll was handled initially when transitioning from WorkGlobal and WorkDirect, but it was made clearer once I expressed it. While I did have an orientation on it, I think the initial orientation should emphasize it more.

What did you like?

The WorkMotion platform is easy to use. Customer service is very reliable and fast. Every single case I have had in the last 3 years of using WorkMotion has been quickly solved. The process of submitting days off, certificates, or any other documents is well-implemented, and I use it frequently enough to say it works well.

What did you not like?

The time tracking feature isn't clear. Lack of possibility to view records of past months limits the ability to correct any errors. It is hard to modify the number of vacation days if it is greater than the number coming from the country regulations.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Thanks to WorkMotion, I can work for the company in one country while living in another EU country, where my employer doesn't have a branch. I can benefit from national regulations of the country I am living in and pay taxes there without being worried about tax policies in the country where my company is. WorkMotion makes working while traveling and living in different countries very easy.

At first it was a bit unusual not to communicate by e-mail, but directly via the ticket system in Workmotion. However, this has the advantage of being able to easily track the entire communication and processing status of the enquiry.

What did you like?

Personally, what I like the most is the very intuitive tools they provide to make remote working easy and feasible. Also, that they take care of all the legal concerns so that the employee can just focus on working and their customer support is effective and fast.

What did you not like?

I'd love if they provided SMS and TOTP as additional 2FA authentication options since the only one available at the moment is email and this could be easily hacked.

Additionally, it would be really helpful if this feature could be integrated with other internal systems—right now, I need to record time in multiple platforms: one for WorkMotion and another one for internal tracking, which leads to duplicated efforts.

What did you like?

The onboarding process was super fast and the teams knowledge about specific requirements in Spain (especially to do with Visas) was really great. The support team is also super helpful and respond to questions really fast with accurate and knowledgeable responses.

What did you not like?

Expense management could be improved to allow for receipts to be emailed in or scanned with an app. Also, as far as I know, there is not an integration with Humaans (HRIS), so team members need to input their PTO in both apps as they don't sync so an integration with Humaans would be a really great improvement!

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Without WorkMotion as the EoR, my company wouldn't be able to employ me in the country I reside in as they don't have a local entity. The alternative for me would've been to become a freelancer which was not an option.

What did you like?

We have used both the solutions (WorkGlobal EOR as well as WorkDirect) and never faced any issues with service or compliance or different processing workflows like payroll, time tracking, expenses as well as end-to-end integrations with different online partners.

What did you not like?

We faced some minor online bugs in 2023 but they were clarified and resolved by the support teams within few working days. Have not faced any issues recently and no issues that cannot be resolved by the support team.

What did you like?

Workmotion made it possible for me to continue the job I love while working abroad. The process was easy and I get fast & attentive support for any topics coming up while adjusting to this new situation in a new country.

What did you not like?

Up until now I haven't made any negative experiences. Every now and then it would be nice to be able to connect a face/a person and have a check-in via call in the beginning, but that's nothing major.

WorkMotion has a very good support. The response time is low. It is easy too use. Wishes of useres are taken sereously.

Prinzipiell finde ich das Konzept gut, dass WorkMotion die Möglichkeit gibt direkt in anderen Ländern anzustellen (haben zwei Produkte: Work Direct und das Standardprodukt: Employer or Record), ohne dass man über einen Drittanbieter die Mitarbeitenden im Land anstellt sondern direkt selbst der Vertragspartner ist. Somit haben die Mitarbeitenden in anderen Ländern auch direkt die Vertragsbeziehung mit dem eigenen Unternehmen, welches wertgeschätzt wird

What did you not like?

Der Kundenservice ist bedingt responsive und leider sind die Wachstumsschmerzen von WorkMotion erheblich zu spüren. Die erste Gehaltsabrechnung war 1,5 Monate zu spät. Leider ein absolutes No-Go wenn man Mitarbeitende pünktlich bezahlen möchte.
