What did you like?
- Response time is the thing I notice most. Every request I've raised has come back within the promised window, and in practice usually faster. A recent example: Latvian law requires a mandatory occupational health check every three years, it's a paid service, and I had no idea how reimbursement worked. I asked and had every answer inside one working day, did the check, and got written confirmation the cost is covered.
- They own the local legal complexity instead of handing it back to me. Occupational safety paperwork, health checks, expense rules — the team knows the Latvian specifics and answers from that knowledge. I've never had to research a local requirement myself and then explain it to my own provider, which is not something I could say about my previous setup.
- They took responsibility for problems they inherited. When my contract moved over to a direct WorkMotion arrangement, there were unresolved items left from the previous structure. WorkMotion picked them up and covered them at their own expense, without me having to chase or escalate anything.
What did you not like?
- The platform itself is the weakest part of the product. It's functional and does what it must — payslips, requests, documents — but the interface feels unfinished in places and there's clearly room to develop it further. It has never blocked me, but it isn't why I'd recommend the service.
- Country-specific rules aren't documented anywhere I can read them. Every local question starts with a ticket, and while the answers are fast and correct, the knowledge lives with the agents rather than in the product. A short Latvia-specific knowledge base covering health checks, reimbursements and safety requirements would remove most of my requests entirely.
- Less common cases don't have a defined procedure. I hit one where the obligation itself was confirmed in writing, but there was no internal process and no stated limit for it, so it turned into a back-and-forth about expected costs before anything could move. For routine things the process is clear; for edge cases it depends on who you ask and how you ask.
Which problems are you solving with the product?
- It makes a cross-border role legally possible at all. The company I work for is based in Germany and has no entity in Latvia, and opening a branch here for a single engineer was never realistic. WorkMotion is the structure that lets me be employed locally under a normal Latvian contract while working for a German employer — without it this position simply wouldn't exist in this form.
- It keeps me on employee status rather than a contractor workaround. Paid leave, sick leave, state social insurance and pension contributions all accrue the way they would in any ordinary local job. Most cross-border arrangements I've seen quietly trade those away for invoicing convenience, and that trade lands entirely on the person, not the company.
- It removes statutory obligations from my desk. Payroll, tax withholding, occupational safety registration, mandatory health checks — all of it is somebody's actual job rather than something I have to track and remember. I get told what's required and when, which is the difference between compliance being handled and compliance being my hobby.

Zusätzlich nutze ich WorkMotion selbst als Talent, da ich seit Kurzem in Spanien darüber angestellt bin. Aus dieser Perspektive läuft der Prozess sogar noch reibungsloser. Ich habe eine feste Ansprechpartnerin, die sich kontinuierlich um meine Anliegen kümmert und Anfragen sehr schnell beantwortet.

Da wir die Plattform als Employer erst seit rund zwei Monaten und ich persönlich als Talent erst seit zwei bis drei Wochen nutze, ist die Erfahrungsbasis noch entsprechend kurz. In dieser Zeit ist uns bislang kein substanzieller Kritikpunkt aufgefallen. Der einzige Punkt mit Verbesserungspotenzial ist das Fehlen einer Schnittstelle zu unserem HR System, wodurch Urlaubstage aktuell doppelt gepflegt werden müssen, einmal in WorkMotion und einmal im eigenen System.

Als Employer of Record ermöglicht uns WorkMotion, Talente international anzustellen, ohne den administrativen Anstellungsprozess selbst abbilden zu müssen. Bei beiden bisherigen Fällen liefen Onboarding und Vertragsabwicklung schnell und unkompliziert.
Als Talent löst WorkMotion für mich das Problem, in Spanien angestellt zu sein, ohne mich selbst um die lokale arbeitsrechtliche Abwicklung kümmern zu müssen. Der Prozess von der Einstellung bis zum laufenden Betrieb war spürbar einfacher, als ich es erwartet hatte.
Den größten Vorteil sehe ich in der festen Ansprechpartnerin, die sich kontinuierlich und schnell um Anliegen kümmert, das gibt sowohl auf Employer als auch auf Talent-Seite Sicherheit im Prozess.

Workmotion is a great solution when you need to hire outside your country and where you don't have a permanent establishment. The solution is fully compliant and easy to use. We've been using Workmotion for 4 years now.
What did you not like?
Only small downside is the double invoicing system they have. They send a funding invoice and after the month a settlement invoice. This process could be simplified.

The contract was fine, the first payroll cycle went through and everything worked as expected. Their support team was also very quick to clarify the questions I've had and I can recommend them to others looking for an EOR. All good so far from the employee end of the relationship

Their web-app could have more sign-in options. They do have 2FA, but only one option and that could be improved.

It was a very smooth and easy process and they help out with problems very fast. It was a very good experience and all felt very professional. Bisher gibt es für mich keine größeren Kritikpunkte. Einige Prozesse könnten vielleicht noch etwas schneller abgewickelt werden, aber insgesamt bin ich mit meiner Erfahrung sehr zufrieden.

WorkMotion erleichtert mir die internationale Beschäftigung und nimmt mir viele administrative Aufgaben ab. Besonders hilfreich sind die einfache Abwicklung von Arbeitsvertrag, Onboarding und Gehaltsabrechnung. Dadurch kann ich mich auf meine eigentliche Arbeit konzentrieren, ohne mich selbst um die komplexen organisatorischen und rechtlichen Prozesse kümmern zu müssen.

easy to access my personal account anytime anywhere. Using personal email and avoid company's IT process to access the account. On boarding process is fast and easy.
What did you not like?
No apps on mobile (iOS). I need to login through safari in order to access my account. The salary information on landing page make it too easy being expose to others

Mir gefällt besonders, dass WorkMotion viele HR-Prozesse in einer einzigen, übersichtlichen Plattform bündelt. Die Verwaltung von Urlaubsanträgen, die Einsicht in Urlaubstage und die Nachverfolgung von Genehmigungen sind einfach und transparent.
Besonders praktisch finde ich, dass wichtige Mitarbeiterinformationen und Dokumente zentral verfügbar sind. Dadurch werden viele Abstimmungen per E-Mail reduziert und alltägliche HR-Aufgaben lassen sich schneller und unkomplizierter erledigen.
What did you not like?
WorkMotion funktioniert insgesamt gut, aber einige Bereiche könnten noch verbessert werden. Besonders bei der Urlaubsverwaltung wäre eine übersichtlichere Darstellung von Urlaubssaldo, bereits eingereichten Anträgen und dem aktuellen Genehmigungsstatus hilfreich.
Auch detailliertere Benachrichtigungen bei Änderungen des Antragsstatus könnten den Prozess verbessern. So wäre man immer informiert, ohne die Plattform regelmäßig manuell überprüfen zu müssen.
Insgesamt sind dies eher kleinere Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten, da meine Erfahrungen mit WorkMotion bisher überwiegend positiv sind.

WorkMotion vereinfacht und zentralisiert viele HR-Prozesse, die ansonsten über E-Mails, manuelle Abstimmungen oder verschiedene Systeme verwaltet werden müssten.
Besonders hilfreich ist für mich die einfache Verwaltung von Urlaubsanträgen, Urlaubssalden und Genehmigungsprozessen. Alle wichtigen Informationen sind an einem Ort verfügbar, sodass ich den Status meiner Anträge jederzeit selbst überprüfen kann.
Dadurch wird der administrative Aufwand reduziert, die Kommunikation mit HR wird effizienter und ich spare Zeit bei alltäglichen HR-Aufgaben. Insgesamt sorgt WorkMotion für mehr Transparenz, eine bessere Organisation und einen unkomplizierten Umgang mit HR-Prozessen.

Guter Support mittels E-Mail. Es wurde sehr schnell reagiert und gut auf meine Anfragen eingegangen. Da war wohl noch ein Mensch auf der anderen Seite was heute selten geworden ist.

Die Identitätsverifikation war sehr langwierig und bedurfte mehrerer Anläufe. Hier wäre ein Onboarding Call besser.

Very efficient in every proccess and very quick answering questions. I work remotely from Spain and workmotion allows me to handle every aspect, including local regulations.
What did you not like?
In fact, there is nothing I don't like. From the very beggining everything was as expected.

The giggest problem that a foreingn remote worker needs is to be able to work fullfilling all the local regulations, and in that aspect, Workmotion has a very expert team that makes it easy. Everything related to payslips working remotely from Spain and every aspect needed to work from another country is correctly solved.

WorkMotion made cross-border employment genuinely straightforward. We used it as an Employer of Record for a role in Romania, and the platform handled contracts, compliance, and onboarding in one clear, well-structured place.
