What did you like?

What did you not like?

Which problems are you solving with the product?

What did you like?

What did you not like?

Which problems are you solving with the product?

What did you like?

What did you not like?

Which problems are you solving with the product?

What did you like?

What did you not like?

Which problems are you solving with the product?

- CMS für das gesamte Unternehmen - Headless - Klassisch - Konfiguration von Webanwendungen (über Dialoge oder Content-Apps im Backend) - Digitales Asset Management - FAQ-Verwaltung - Lastverteilite Content-Verteilung - Umsetzung von Kundenspezifischen Seiten und Deduplizierung von Gemeinsamkeiten

What did you like?

The best thing about Magnolia is its simplicity of installation and implementation, and the manufacturer's willingness to implement it. Once understood, the architecture is simple and easy to implement.

What did you not like?

The documentation is sometimes unclear. The tool is simple, but it can sometimes be difficult to understand without contacting the manufacturer.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Magnolia makes it easy for me to work with different development groups, each of which has its own deployments. It allows each development group to have sufficient autonomy to create their own sites and to globally control all deployments across the different sites. The main benefit is rapid implementation.

What did you like?

I like at Magnolia that it is a easy tool for client who don't have so much experience and knowledge. The client can do the content editing on her own and we can support where she needs help. Also there are a lot of templates and widgets that can be used to created new pages very quick. And the tool is enough for smaller pages where we don't need a very fancy customized page.

What did you not like?

The only bad thing about Magnolia is that you can't follow every client wish when they want to have some customized option when we only work with existing widgets.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

For us it is solving the creation of websites for smaller clients with not so many fancy requirements.

What did you like?

Developer-friendly experience, local development/demo instance is easy to set up in a matter of minutes. The WYSIWIG page editor offering the same user experience regardless the app being standard or headless. The Content Apps and REST API frameworks allow for the product the go beyond just website management and act as a centralized platform for any kind of data.

What did you not like?

The lack of build-in standard component/page template library that could allow to bootstrap a quick prototype in a no-code manner. The performance and user experience of the Page editor degrades with growing number of components on the page. Especially when using nested areas.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Centralizing content management by providing the business and marketing teams with a tool that allows to build consistent web presence, without the constant involvement of the IT department.

As a user of Magnolia CMS, I appreciate its user-friendly interface and robust features. The platform's flexibility and scalability allow for seamless integration with various third-party applications, supporting multi-language content, which is ideal for global organizations. Its open-source nature, combined with a strong community, ensures continuous improvement and support.

What did you not like?

What did you like?

As a reseller and implementation partner of Magnolia CMS, I appreciate its strengths in scalability, security, and AI integration. It’s a robust and flexible platform that allows businesses to create personalized and future-proof digital experiences while ensuring enterprise-grade security.

What did you not like?

Magnolia is a powerful and comprehensive CMS that combines flexibility, security, and AI-driven innovation. It’s an excellent choice for enterprises looking for a future-proof, scalable, and composable DXP. However, the limited number of resellers might give the impression that it’s not as widely adopted as it deserves to be.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

From what I've heard from developers, the newer versions of Magnolia cause certain issues with specific developments.

What did you like?

Product's developer-friendly approach. Available source code makes it the ultimate documentation. Flexible and extendable.

What did you not like?

Reliance on JCR seems to be a little bit too "legacy". Especially in the context of cloud-native deployments. Extensibility can be a double-edged sword and customizations can be tricky during upgrades.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Tight coupling between the non-technical business department responsible for the website's content and the IT department. With Magnolia website's content can be managed without the involvement of IT.

What did you like?

The best thing about Magnolia for me is that it is very customisable, both from admincentral interface and backend point of view. Without a doubt, another of its strong points is that it is totally java based. Finally, another of its best points is that for people who use it as a contributor of information or as a user, it is quite intuitive and easy to move through the different applications and content.

What did you not like?

One of the things I dislike is that the documentation is often lacking information. There are certain areas that are either glossed over or not even mentioned at all.

For me, the most useful thing about Magnolia is that it provides powerful solutions for editing and publishing content, as well as the automation of some processes and image management.

What did you like?

From a technical perspective, Magnolia's modular framework and robust API capabilities facilitated smooth integration with existing systems. The development team particularly benefited from the Light Development approach, which accelerated custom component creation and reduced deployment complexity.

What did you not like?

No downside. Maybe more marketing push to get Magnolia being in the client's consideration set.

What did you like?

Magnolia shines when it comes to content management & personalisation, Integration & flexibility, performance & scalability and most important of all security. The platform has a robust personalisation capabilities, allowing businesses to deliver customised content based on user behaviour, preferences and location. Another aspect that have impressed me is that they offer dedicated support team ready to assist with any issues. Magnolia also has a growing community of developers making easy to find help, tutorial and plugins.WHi

What did you not like?

There are few areas of improvement, particularly around ease of use for beginners and performance optimisation for large-scale environments.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

The main problem being solved is the complexity and inefficiency of managing digital content across multiple channels and regions, particularly for business that require flexibility, scalability and robust integration capabilities. The benefit that we have realised is increased efficiency, improved content delivery, enhanced personalisation, seamless integrations and future prooffing.

What did you like?

The editing interface is intuitive and well-structured, making it easier for editorial teams to work with preview and drag-and-drop functionalities. Magnolia allows you to create and organize content through a tree structure system that simplifies management and daily use for both editors and developers. Additionally, with the self-hosted version, you have the ability to better understand potential issues and resolve them independently.

What did you not like?

Many clients complain about the lack of a SaaS version, which makes it difficult to market the product. Additionally, simplifying editor customization would be necessary by removing Vaadin, introducing APIs, and adopting more modern and functional frameworks like React or Vue. Fortunately, this last point should finally be in progress. Some connectors for third-party integrations are still very immature and often require a complete overhaul.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Over the years, we have provided our clients with an intuitive CMS that meets their needs while maintaining an excellent quality-to-price ratio.

What did you like?

What did you not like?

Which problems are you solving with the product?

What did you like?

What did you not like?

Which problems are you solving with the product?

What did you like?

What did you not like?

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Magnolia is very flexible, easy to customize to our needs, also it provides lots of modules that can serve to very specific needs. making it not so frequent complex customization reducing complexity.

What did you not like?

As Magnolia has lots and lots of modules, many have the incubator status, it is hard to predict when it becomes a stable official module. another point is the pace for headless compatibilities in some cases.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Ecommerce solutions. Magnolia provides a extensive OOB list for this, allowing to focus more to the business cases and less to the technical aspects of it.

What did you like?

Using Magnolia CMS has been a game-changer for our content management when migrating legacy customer websites. We can now handle everything from one central place, which has made our workflows much smoother and more efficient. The interface is user-friendly, making it easy for our team to manage content without needing extensive technical knowledge. Magnolia's composable approach fit perfectly into our existing system, making the integration process surprisingly easy. Magnolia has been a solid and dependable partner, meeting all our needs along the way. Overall, this CMS has exceeded our expectations and has become a key tool in our digital toolkit.

What did you not like?

While Magnolia CMS has many strengths, there are a few areas where it could improve. The initial setup and configuration can be quite complex, especially for those without a dedicated technical team. The learning curve is steep, and it can take some time to fully understand and utilize all the features effectively. The trainings and documentation available could be improved, including more "certifications" to be available. While the platform offers a lot of flexibility, some users might find that it requires more customization and development effort than they expected, unless you were using the core OOTB features only.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Before switching to a modern CMS like Magnolia, we struggled with managing content across multiple platforms, which led to inconsistencies and inefficiencies. Magnolia has allowed us to centralize our content management, making it much easier to maintain a consistent brand voice across all channels. The flexibility of the platform has been a game-changer, enabling us to customize workflows and integrate with our existing systems seamlessly. This has significantly reduced the time spent on manual tasks and improved overall productivity. Another benefit to highlight is scalability, meaning we can grow and adapt our digital assets without worrying about outgrowing the CMS.

What did you like?

The creation of contents is not a big deal. Only a few elements to navigate and to create. A less is more layout. Easy to understand.

What did you not like?

Sometimes i get lost or have to navigate trough too many layers. The main dashboard and icons per menu item should have more hierarchies. It looks very flat.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Building many websites in a huge overall content structure.

What did you like?

The ready to use API`s which make it easy to connect Magnolia to various sources. It`s easy to manage and has all the functions I would expact from a DAM System. It can be integrated in self coded projects like our data platform and as a standard software we get all the updates and patches we need to keep it safe and stable.

What did you not like?

It`s the best DAM I ever used and I use DAM software for more than twenty years. Our own and extern developers are happy with the interfaces they can easily use to integrate Magnolia in their project architecture. The continuous delivery of updates and patches minimize the operational rist of the project, so the our developers can concentrate to increase the value of customer experience.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Managing more than 120000 digital assets with more than 7 Million Versions. We have exact dates to depublish digital assets and also to publish newer versions on a special date and time. All that is very important to us to meet legal requirements ant to keep our customers up to date in a difficult and complex kind of business.

Magnolia is easy to use for editors. The provider has a good service and constantly innovates. The backend has a modern look and feel.

Efficient website content management, using Magnolia API to deliver contents to other applications

What did you like?

The large number of apps and the simple language handling in particular make editing content much easier and faster for us. Training new colleagues in particular is now much easier, as most of the steps are self-explanatory. In addition, there is a lot of documentation and training on specific problems. We came from a CMS system where most of the programming and customisation could only be carried out by external service providers. With Magnolia, we now have a system that we can maintain and develop ourselves.

What did you not like?

Individual programming and dependencies could be implemented even more easily and the system could be structured in an even more modular way - e.g. copy and paste of components on different pages.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Multilingual company websites can be maintained both centrally and decentrally without drifting apart visually. Magnolia now combines many functions that previously had to be maintained in other systems into one screen.

Admin Center UI, WYSIWYG Editor, Light module approach, possibility to implement extensions, Headless accelerator, fast response times from support

What did you not like?

Magnolia's performance is relatively bad when trying to save complex pages. The ability to export and import big amounts of data, especially from DAM. Documentation can be improved.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

We launched multiple sites with Magnolia. We can create apps for costumer usage very fast. We made an elastic search adapter.
