Webex

The roots of Webex go back to 1995, and today the video conferencing solution is often seen as an industry standard, offering a corresponding range of functions - including HD videos, screen sharing, and conference recording. Meetings can be scheduled from Outlook, Office 365 and Google, and integrated into platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Canvas or Moodle. There are gimmicks such as the option to stream conferences as a Facebook Live event. Meetings can have up to 40,000 participants. Additionally, Cisco offers hardware such as IP phones, or whiteboards that can be integrated into their video conferencing system.

Webex is a cloud-based video conferencing tool that allows you to make or receive calls and participate in online meetings. With Webex, you can also send messages, create polls & FAQs, and host virtual events with up to 100,000 participants. To make your work easier, Webex can be connected with numerous other tools like Salesforce, Zendesk, Miro, Slack, and Google Calendar.

To use Webex, you do not need local installation on your computer, only a customer account with Webex. Once you have created and confirmed your customer account, you log into your customer account via the Webex website, and from there, you can avail all Webex functions.

Once you are logged into your Webex customer account, you can schedule a new appointment for a Webex or an online meeting from your home page. In addition, you also have the option in the left side menu to set up new meetings under the menu item Meetings and to view past meetings. As soon as your scheduled meeting is due, you can start the meeting via a button.

Once you are logged into your Webex account, an overview of your upcoming Webex meetings appears. To participate in a meeting, all you need to do is click on the Start button for the corresponding meeting and you will be redirected to the Webex start screen. There, you can make settings for your microphone and your camera. Afterwards, you just click on "start meeting" and you are participating in the online meeting.
