SumUp focuses as – as it calls itself – a simple billing program on freelancers, founders, and small business owners. The system is intended to help in particular to write professional invoices, complete necessary accounting, and keep track of one's own finances. It aims for intuitive usability. Writing and sending invoices is possible on the desktop or mobile, the invoice status can be viewed at any time and SumUp informs the users as soon as an invoice is settled. In addition to these functions, SumUp offers expense tracking and automatic categorisation, payment reconciliation through bank integration, and automatic recognition (OCR) of the most important data of imported receipts. Moreover, a tax consultant can be involved. The Berlin developer of the same name offers SumUp in four packages - between four and 24 Euros monthly.
