What did you like?

The drag-and-drop editor offers an extensive library of professional shapes and icons covering everything from software engineering diagrams to floor plans, so you rarely need to build elements from scratch. Smart connectors automatically snap to shapes, and rearranging diagrams doesn't break existing connections, which speeds up editing significantly. Real-time collaboration is a genuine strength — multiple team members can edit and comment on the same diagram simultaneously. Integrations with Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, and Confluence fit smoothly into existing workflows, and the ability to import files from Visio (.vsdx) and draw.io makes it easy to review and edit diagrams created elsewhere.

What did you not like?

Performance can lag on the canvas during heavy diagramming tasks, particularly with a slower internet connection, since the tool relies heavily on cloud access and offers limited offline functionality. Comments can also refresh slowly during high-traffic collaboration sessions. Some advanced features, like AI-assisted layout changes, don't work reliably — attempts to have the AI restructure existing diagrams often fail, forcing manual fixes even though the AI works fine when building diagrams from scratch. Frequent updates sometimes relocate tools without warning, and some premium templates and deeper font/color customization are locked behind paid tiers.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

We use Lucidchart to map out team workflows, document system architecture, and create process diagrams that used to be scattered across static files or whiteboards that only existed in one office. The main benefit has been centralizing this visual documentation in one cloud-based place, so anyone on the team can view, comment, or edit diagrams in real time instead of waiting on someone to update and re-share a file. Smart connectors and the shape library have also cut down significantly on the time it takes to build and revise diagrams, since rearranging elements doesn't break existing connections. The integrations with tools like Slack and Google Workspace have made it easier to keep diagrams visible and up to date within our existing workflow, rather than treating diagramming as a separate, disconnected task.

What did you like?

Lucidchart is most helpful because it allows me to create clear and professional diagrams without needing advanced design skills. The drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to build flowcharts, process maps, and system diagrams quickly and in an organized way. I also like the collaboration features, as they allow team members to review, comment, and edit diagrams in real time, which improves communication and saves time during project work.

What did you not like?

Some of the more advanced features are available only in paid plans, which can be limiting for students, small teams, or users who need the tool only occasionally. Large and complex diagrams can also become difficult to manage if the workspace is not structured carefully. In addition, the number of templates and formatting options can feel slightly overwhelming at first for new users.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Lucidchart helps me solve the problem of explaining complex processes and workflows in a simple visual format. Instead of relying only on written descriptions, I can create flowcharts, process maps, and system diagrams that make responsibilities, dependencies, and decision points easier to understand. This is especially useful for business analysis, project planning, and process documentation. The main benefit I have realized is improved communication with stakeholders, because visual diagrams reduce confusion and make discussions more structured. Lucidchart also saves time when documenting processes, as the templates and drag-and-drop features allow me to create diagrams quickly. It helps teams align faster by providing a shared visual reference that can be reviewed and updated collaboratively.

What did you like?

Lucidchart has many features for diagrams including flow charts. The fonts are different from the regular ones and are professional. Even without the premium membership, one can access more features when compared to other tools out there. Would totally recommend Lucidchart to someone looking for easy drag and drop options with existing templates.

What did you not like?

Considering the fact that I don't have premium membership, I haven't come across something that I did not like so far.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

I am using it to draw flowcharts for the flow of logic before a feature is developed. It is help my team understand better and further analyse

What did you like?

What did you not like?

Which problems are you solving with the product?

What did you like?

What did you not like?

Which problems are you solving with the product?

What did you like?

What did you not like?

Which problems are you solving with the product?

What did you like?

One thing that genuinely surprised me: building a swim-lane chart felt way more intuitive than in other tools I'd been using recently, like Miro. Lucidchart is stricter about keeping lanes organized instead of letting you place things wherever. At first that felt limiting, but it turned out to be the point. Less freedom inside the lanes meant I couldn't make a mess even if I tried.

What did you not like?

The annoying: the auto-layout gets confused fast once a diagram has more than 15-20 nodes, and I end up manually dragging things around anyway. Text boxes sometimes resize in ways I didn't ask for.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

It's helping us to perform a quick collaborative diagramming for our new app, without having a steep learning curve or having to pay a high cost while we are still bootstrapping our solution.

What did you like?

I liked the idea of creating diagrams and flow charts based on the code or XML, and the idea of creating as simple flow chart and diagram or any graphics is simple and can be done in couple of minutes, and it supports multiple formats and can asl export in multiple formats and there is an AI support available which can also tune the final result.

What did you not like?

In my limited use what I didn't like is some features are customization are hidden behind a paywall which is kind of annoying as I would prefer to first try out some of the pro features like without any trial or giving any specific card or payment details, the model I like is done by Google Gemini as no matter you pay or not you still get to use some pro features daily.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

I was tasked to crate a SOHO network diagram, I made initial concept via Lucid chart and then customized it based on the output via LucidAI.

What did you like?

If you are a visual learner, artist, or conceptual thinker, Lucidchart is a wonderful platform that transforms the way you organize your thoughts and projects. It bridges the gap between raw imagination and structured planning. Here is why it stands out: Seamless Real-Time Collaboration One of its strongest features is the ability to collaborate with others online. You can work with a team simultaneously on the same project in real time, or jump in on your own schedule to make updates asynchronously. It keeps everyone perfectly aligned without the hassle of back-and-forth file sharing. Inspirational Templates Lucidchart comes packed with a massive library of high-quality templates. These aren't just practical tools to help you get a head start; they genuinely inspire new ways to structure and design your workflow. Smart AI Integration The platform features built-in Lucid AI to help customize and execute your vision. Whether you need to instantly generate diagrams from a text prompt, format complex ideas, or optimize your layouts, the AI tool works like a collaborative assistant right on your canvas.

What did you not like?

Because it is an online collaboration platform, you are naturally restricted if your internet drops. However, it is incredibly forgiving. If you disconnect, you don’t lose your progress; you can keep working in the open document, and it safely saves your changes locally. As soon as you quick sign back on or get your Wi-Fi back, it automatically syncs everything up without losing your advancement

Which problems are you solving with the product?

It is perfect for team exercises where everyone has their own part. It was great to be able to learn from others in a visual way, collaborating in real time and also on our own time.

What did you like?

Lucid is THE service I have been using for diagramming since 2019. There are templates for multiple use cases, from UML to mind maps, but the main features are how easy it is to use and how straightforward everything is compared with other tools: everything you need is literally right there. The mermaid integration is top-notch, and I was so happy when it was added. It works perfectly

What did you not like?

The AI features are still experimental and clunky, not very precise. I wish there were some sort of discount available for students.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

I use Lucidchart for diagramming processes and drawing UML diagrams and flowcharts. It has saved me so much time and effort

What did you like?

What I like best about Lucidchart is its real-time collaboration, which lets multiple people work on the same diagram at once, making teamwork much easier. It’s also very simple to use with its drag-and-drop interface, so even beginners can quickly create clean and professional diagrams.

What did you not like?

What I dislike about Lucidchart is that many useful features are locked behind the paid version, which can be limiting for free users. It can also feel a bit slow or cluttered when working on large, complex diagrams.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Lucidchart is commonly used to solve problems related to unclear processes, poor team alignment, and scattered documentation by turning complex ideas into easy-to-understand visual diagrams. Many teams struggle with messy workflows, miscommunication between departments, and difficulty designing systems or structures, and Lucidchart addresses these issues by providing a centralized, visual way to map out processes, architectures, and organizational relationships. As a result, users benefit from improved clarity, faster decision-making, and stronger collaboration through real-time editing and shared access. It also saves time with ready-made templates and drag-and-drop tools while ensuring consistency across teams. Overall, Lucidchart helps individuals and organizations work more efficiently by simplifying complexity and making information more accessible and actionable.

easier to use than other charting tools. spacing corrections are really convenient, easy to reformat the graph, while keeping it clean and not having to re-do the whole thing

What did you not like?

unfortunately some elements in lucid chart are not easily replaceable. for example if you used a certain shape and put text inside, sometimes you have to manually re-do the box with a new shape instead of simple click and replace.

It’s just so incredibly intuitive. I love that I can jump in and have a professional-looking diagram ready in minutes without having to watch a single tutorial. It has saved me a ton of time because the "snap-to-grid" and formatting tools do all the heavy lifting for me.

What did you not like?

There’s honestly not much to complain about! If I had to pick something, the sheer number of features can feel a little overwhelming at first glance, but once you find your favorite tools, it’s smooth sailing.

What did you like?

Ease of use. What I really love about Lucidchart is how easy it makes turning my ideas into visual diagrams. The drag-and-drop interface feels super smooth and intuitive, so I don’t have to waste time figuring out how to make things look right. It’s great for brainstorming or mapping out complex workflows with my team because everyone can jump in and collaborate live, which just keeps everything moving

What did you not like?

When working on big diagrams with lots of detail and collaborators, it can slow down a bit. Also, if you only use it occasionally or have a small team, the pricing might feel a bit steep.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Lucidchart has become my go‑to tool whenever I need to untangle something messy or explain a complex idea to my team. I mostly use it to map out processes and workflows that are otherwise hard to explain in meetings or long emails or to work on roadmap prioritization in the sketching phase
