What did you like?
Man findet sich in Seatable sehr schnell zurecht, sprich es ist sehr intuitiv. Es gibt sehr viele sinnvolle Funktionen, bspw. ist das Erstellen von Dashboards für große Datenmengen mittels verfügbarer Plug-Ins ein Kinderspiel. Ein weiterer großer Pluspunkt ist, dass das Programm stetig und sinvoll weiterentwickelt wird. Die Kommunikationsfunktionen (Kommentare direkt in der Zelle) sind sehr hilfreich. Freigaberichtlinien lassen sich für verschiedene Stufen der Zusammenarbeit einfach einrichten. Die Anbindung mittels API (manche direkt, manche per Webhook) klappen zuverlässig. Der Support ist klasse!
What did you not like?
Ich würde mir wünschen, dass es in der Zukunft mehr Optionen in der Gestaltung der Dashboards gibt bzw. der Diagramme selbst (bessere Farbzuordnung, usw.). Die Funktion ganze Reiter oder Spalten in einer Base zu kopieren und in einer anderen Base einzufügen fehlt leider aktuell - hier könnte defintiv noch nachgebessert werden.

Die lästige Arbeit mit Excel wurde/wird von uns damit weitgehend abgelöst. Viel mehr Flexibilität und dank der Freigaberichtlinien, Kommentarfunktion und Benachrichtigungsoptionen deutlich leichtere Zusammenarbeit.

Mir gefallen die Funktionen sehr gut, von denen ich die meisten nutze, um pro Kunde beinahe alle organisatorischen Aufgaben vollautomatisiert durchzuführen. Nach der schnellen Erstellung und Erweiterung im ersten Monat, testete ich im zweiten alle Funktionen mit Test-Daten. Seit vier Monaten läuft das System. Mittlerweile habe ich auch Stolpersteine beseitigt. Iterativ optimiere ich das System und freue mich darüber, wie viel bisher stumpfsinnige Jobs es mir abnimmt und Raum gibt, andere wichtige Dinge zu erledigen.

Was viel Testarbeit und Optimierung brauchte, war die Tatsche, dass aufeinander folgende Automatisierungen mit dem Trigger "wenn eine Zeile geändert wird" trotz Änderung nicht anspringen. Es wirkt, als würden sich Ende der einen Automatisierung und Anfang der neuen überschneiden. So startet die nächste Automatisierung nicht, OBWOHL sich gerade eine Zeile mehrfach änderte. Es muss also manuell in derselben Zeile nochmals ein Haken gelöscht und nochmals gesetzt werden, damit die nächste Automatisierung anspringt. Mittlerweile habe ich Wege gefunden, dieses Problem zu umgehen.

Kunden erhalten nach Anmeldung automatisch die Bestätigung, am nächsten Tag die Rechnung, dann den Einladungslink zu unserem Training, das Zertifikat sowie die Teilnahmebestätigung, die Zahlungserinnerung, die gesamte Abwicklung eines Stornos oder eines Widerrufs.

What did you like?
Am meisten schätzen wir die kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung von SeaTable. Es werden regelmäßig neue Funktionen und Lösungen umgesetzt, die im Alltag wirklich hilfreich sind. Besonders das Update auf Version 6 empfinden wir als echten Meilenstein. Dadurch entdecken wir immer wieder neue Möglichkeiten, um unsere eigenen Anforderungen noch besser abzubilden.
Entschieden haben wir uns letztlich für SeaTable, weil es sich um ein deutsches Unternehmen handelt und die Daten auf Servern in der EU verbleiben.
What did you not like?
Negativ ist aus meiner Sicht, dass SeaTable bestimmte Funktionen (noch) nicht vollständig abbilden kann. Wenn man sehr komplexe Setups mit vielen Abhängigkeiten zwischen Tabellen nutzt, stößt man gelegentlich an Grenzen. Positiv daran ist allerdings: Oft folgt schon wenige Wochen später ein Update, das neue Möglichkeiten eröffnet – und damit werden genau solche Herausforderungen nicht selten plötzlich lösbar.

Super finde ich - im Vergleich zu vielen anderen Freemium-Produkten - den Funktionsumfang in der kostenfreien Version. Gerade als kleines Unternehmen konnten wir hier viel umsetzen. Außerdem gefällt mir die stetige Weiterentwicklung des Tools.
What did you not like?
Persönlich fehlen mir Freigabeprozesse und teilweise ein paar Automatisierungen. Aber einerseits sind gerade die Automatisierungen noch recht neue Funktionen und werden sicher weiter ausgebaut. Andererseits baue ich mir Automatisierungen dann mit make.com selbst.

What did you like?
I like that SeaTable is a fully-packaged self-hosted product. It features no-code dataset editor, storage and automations. License costs are reasonable. This is the most mature database management system I've seen so far, that users can install on their systems
What did you not like?
From the admin perspective, SeaTable is "heavier" that, for example, nocodb. It is not easy to work with the underlying database directly. From the users' perspective, SeaTable doesn't have as advance interface builder as it could be

I used SeaTable as a backbone data platform for a client that handles enterprise sales and delivery tracking. Self-hosting was a must. also, rich API features allowed deep integration with other systems such as CRM, mailservers etc.

What did you like?
We switched from Excel a few month ago and SeaTable is basically the backbone of our agency now. We manage all our client campaigns, content calendars and creative briefs all in one place. What I like most is that it feels like a spreadsheet but work like a real database. We gained huge flexibility in managing our projects.
What did you not like?
Not so much. It take a little bit of time to understand all the possibilities if you are new to database-like tools. The mobile app isn't as good as the desktop version, but this is a minor issue for me.
Which problems are you solving with the product?
We handle a lot of different clients and projects at the same time and with SeaTable we can build our own custom structure and apps for differents processes and clients without needing a developer. The forms feature really streamlined our briefing processes. And thanks to real-time collaboration no one works with old information or has to ask for updates anymore.

Die Formel Felder und das per default verfügbare restapi und MCP ist ein erheblicher Mehrwert. Was man da alles mit den Board Mitteln machen kann ist schon Recht gut.
What did you not like?
Das es in der Automatisierung keine möglichkeit außer schedulded Jobs gibt um ein PDF zu generieren. UI teilweise bei verlinkten Daten etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig ist z.B. das x beim Entfernen löscht den Datensatz nicht sondern unlinked es nur. Das Plus Zeichen erstellt nicht einen Datensatz sondern öffnet die Verlinkung Seite.

Am besten gefällt mir die Einfachheit der Bedienung. Außerdem ist die Idee der App fantastisch - quasi ein eingebautes Bi-tool. Leider ist letztere nur bedingt nutzbar. Bisher hatte ich keine Probleme mit dem export etc.. Datenimport via copy+paste funktioniert auch gut. Ich bin gespannt, ob das auch noch so reibungslos läuft, wenn wir die Grenze der Datenmenge erreichen, bei der wir das Big-Data-Backend nutzen müssen.

Ich versuche, einige Dashboards in der App zu bauen, die nützlich für meine Kollegen sind. Das größte Problem ist der Fakt, dass man keinen Gruppenfilter erstellen kann. Ein Filter, der für alle Diagramme auf der Seite (oder die verbunden werden etc.) gilt. Das würde die Nutzbarkeit drastisch verbessern (und kann außerdem nicht allzu schwer zu erstellen sein). Außerdem gefällt mir nicht, wie wenig Designoptionen die App hat. Hier könnte sehr gut und einfach noch viel herausgeholt werden. Ich finde es schwierig, mit diesen seltsamen Boxen, die ineinander buggen, zu arbeiten. Die Designelemente und Graphiken werden im Bearbeitungsmodus alle ineinander angezeigt. Macht man einen Fehler, muss man die halbe App neu bauen.

Wir verwenden Seatable aktuell ausschließlich als Datenbank. Wenn das System fertig ist, soll es dem ganzen Team als Datenbank für diverse Daten zu unseren Mandaten dienen. Dafür müsste allerdings die App noch ein oder zwei Funktionen bekommen (Gruppenfilter!) - ansonsten müssen wir auf ein anderes BI-Tool umsteigen. Eine Nutzung als Projektmanagement Plattform etc. könnte zukünftig auch interessant sein.

In den Datentabellen lassen sich im Team einfach viele Daten erfassen und einzelnen Personen gut zuweisen. Dies ist immer eine gute Möglichkeit Prozesse abzubilden und den Flow aufrecht zu erhalten. Viele Analysen und Darstellungen sind durch die vielen Ansichtsmöglichkeiten von Kanban über Kalender super transparent zu halten.

Die Datenansicht über verschiedene Bases ist aktull noch nicht so einfach herzustellen. Was aber besonders fehlt, ist bei Betrachtung von interner und Externer Kommunikation, E-Mail nach Außen und Seatable nach innen, dass Mails nicht an eine Tabelle gesandt werden können. Der Eingang sollte dann eine neue Zeile anlagen, damit Mailadresse, Betreff und Mailinhalt, etc. ggf. in Feldern gespeichert werden.

Wir haben im Team von einem Vorgansmanager, Vertragsverwaltung bishin zu einem Formulargenerator auch noch eine Buchung für die Pool-Fahrzeuge erstellt.
