What is Grav?

Grav is an open source flat-file content management system (CMS). According to the developer Trilby Media, the solution is supposed to be usable for all kinds of web presences: landing pages, portfolios, documentations, personal resumes, product pages, e-commerce, blogs, business pages etc. Core benefits include a lot of flexibility - among other things through API support - and the ability to create very fast websites. The latter is primarily due to its lean orientation as a flat-file CMS. Great importance is placed on intuitive usability with a lot of functionality. Grav can basically be used for free. However, under Grav Premium, customers have the opportunity to book various additional features that can make their online presence even more effective. These include SEO tools, special theme options, advanced galleries and more.

What did you like?

Grav ist ein kleines Flat-File System - das heißt, dass der Content in einfachen Dateien gespeichert wird. Das vermindert die Komplexität der Datenhaltung enorm. Das Setup ist schnell und einfach durchgeführt. Das Dashboard ist sehr modern und ansehnlich - Vorallem aber übersichtlich. Es existiert mittlerweile auch eine größere Community und so gibt es für viele Anwendungsfälle Plugins für SEO und Performance. Insgesamt ein einfaches und gutes CMS für kleiner Internetseiten.

What did you not like?

Die Anpassbarkeit ist teilweise nicht so optimal. Viele Dinge müssen recht umständlich durchgeführt werden. Zudem ist bei komplexeren Seiten die Pflege eher mühselig und nicht so intuitiv.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Verwaltung von kleineren Internetseiten. Vorallem auf Servern, die keinen Datenbankserver besitzen. Hier kann Grav enorm Punkten.
