What did you like?
Good developer experience due to extensive documentation, pre-configured development environment and tooling. No need to worry about CI/CD process nor environment setup since it's a SaaS solution. Usually no development efforts needed when content adjustments have to be made.
What did you not like?
This is an advanced tech. which has to be mastered in order to work efficiently, there's a learning curve to overcome. There's an additional implementation effort if the store has very complex logic, since Frontastic domain has to be extended/adapted accordingly. Frontend performance score could be improved.
Which problems are you solving with the product?
Quick time to market and overall setup (dev environments, experimental environments, multi-stage store environments, deployment). The PoC can be built in days, MVP in weeks and full solution fairly quickly too. Dynamic content is a thing nowadays, Frontastic offers that out of the box, including abstractions and tooling that allows to build custom components too.

What did you like?
Next to providing a storefront frontastic has a convenient backend available for your content teams or marketing teams to arrange pages and content in a page builder style. Very easy to apply without any technical skills!
What did you not like?
First integration between eCommerce Backends and Frontastic is a bit cumbersome as not always relevant endpoints are present or need integrations (e.g. PSP) are available OoTB. Size of the JavaScript could be optimised.
Which problems are you solving with the product?
No need to take care about CI/CD or Infrastructure topics. All handled as a service by FT.

What did you like?
Das starten und Einrichten geht schnell, es kann ziemlich fix losentwickelt werden. Die Erweiterung mit anderen Shop-APIs geht sehr gut. Auch insgesamt geht die Einarbeitung fix, die Arbeitsumgebung fühlt sich sehr produktiv an.
What did you not like?
Also kleine Sachen gibt es immer. Wir haben Tailwind und Purge.css nicht an den Start bekommen in dieser Umgebung. Im Nachhinein aber gar nicht schlimm, und wir mit den Updates vermutlich bald gehen.
Which problems are you solving with the product?
Für ein Headless Backend-Shop braucht es eine Entwicklungsumgebung für das Frontend. Frontastic stellt eine Sandbox pro Entwickler zum Entwickeln sowie eine Stage und eine Production-Umgebung. Es werden Templates gebaut, die in Frontastic dann von Redakteur*innen zu einem Shop zusammengesteckt werden können. Frontastic bietet auch selbst gängige Shoptemplates an.
