The visual editor makes it easy to see what you’re building without going back and forth too much. The component setup helps keep content organized and reusable, which fits well with structured ways of working. It also connects well with PaaS like Vercel.
What did you not like?
Some areas for improvement: Setup and permissions can be just a tiny bit confusing and take extra time to sort out. Asset Management must be improved and better organized (e.g. more governance and tools to track and manage assets). When something breaks, it’s not always that clear what went wrong, which slows down troubleshooting a bit. But all in all very good CMS

Leider ist es preislich in einem gehobenen Niveau. Das Customer Success Management habe ich mir mehr erhofft. Hier muss man selbst proaktiv werden.

Es gibt keine Out-of-the-box Elemente/Komponenten. Stärkere Abhängigkeit von Entwicklern; Neue Layouts oder Funktionen können nicht einfach vom Marketing selbst gebaut werden , man braucht immer Entwickler; Kosten steigen mit Skalierung rasch an; Content muss bewusst strukturiert werden (Blöcke, Beziehungen etc.). Das ist am Anfang anspruchsvoll und kann falsch konzipiert später Probleme machen. Historie / Nachvollziehbarkeit ist leider nicht detailiert genug.

Internationalität -> ein System für die ganze Welt; Editoren sind einfach einzuschulen (ohne spezielle Kompetenzen haben zu müssen); Flexibilität für unsere Anforderungen (weil die entsprechenden Komponenten gebaut werden zielgenau), dadurch einfach erweiterbar.

What did you like?
I find the interface nice and clear. There are lots of documentation. We have a person of contact assigned to us. We don't have to check what the content creators do, when we code, there is no risk of overwriting or losing content.
What did you not like?
The user limit is a problem for us and not enough reason by itself to change to a higher plan (the price difference doesn't justify it, just for that). Getting the ID or URL of many assests is also not ideal. Exporting that to a csv file would be helpful. Not having history for more than 30 days proved to be a problem with pages we didn't usually change or update
Which problems are you solving with the product?
It is a more modern tool for content than what we had, the components are easier to reuse, and the deploy process results in less errors for us.

What did you like?
The first factor or feature that I liked about Storyblok is the great way in which it has integrations with important platforms or services, achieving a perfect integration with .NET infrastructures, it allows integration with PHP and Next.js services as well as allowing the integration of all Javascript functions within the creation of CMS content. I liked the AI that Stotoryblok has used, this AI has allowed us to design very good quality content in an automated way and has managed to create very diverse content. Storyblok supports group work, which is very beneficial because we can create new content and landing pages for clients jointly and collaboratively with other colleagues. It is a very complete tool to design new content from scratch, this is fantastic.
What did you not like?
It has very few functions for image editing, this is very negative because it greatly limits the way in which we can edit images that will be inserted in the new content that we are generating, it would be great to be able to modify images in a more complete way in Storyblok. Storyblok cannot be used without an internet connection, which makes internet connectivity essential to be able to generate a new landnig page from scratch, it would be great to be able to use Storyblok without an internet connection.
Which problems are you solving with the product?
I must admit that Storyblok has been the most efficient platform we have had at the level of editing and creating Landing Pages, this CMS type platform has allowed our entire Web Development team to develop new content for all the clients who access our services, I'm very happy with the effectiveness that Storyblok has proven to have, this platform has really allowed the majority of our developers and I to establish content creation with the ease and integration of our important services such as PHP, Python, Next.js and others, this has made us scale our content creation even more. Our Managed IT services company will continue to use Storyblok to offer quality services in the web development of clients.

One of the first features I liked about StoryBlok is the fantastic way it automatically integrates with PHP and Next.js services, allowing you to get the most out of content creation and management of new landing pages. I love being able to create content with a drag and drop system while also being able to use programming code to create a new landing page, this helps me maintain diversity in the quality of content I create for my website.
What did you not like?
Being a programming and content creation platform, most of its features are quite complex to use, and there is no training section in StoryBlok where you can learn how to use the platform. I don't like the fact that the platform doesn't have training sections that make it easy for users to adapt to it.
Which problems are you solving with the product?
StoryBlok has allowed me to create a lot of new content and new landing pages for my company's entire website. I really love this CMS platform because it allows me to quickly create new content for my website. This has allowed me to bring new content to customers who visit our website. StoryBlok has allowed us to be collaborative when developing new content for the website. This platform allows us to store all the content we create together to continue editing it later. It also allows us to edit new content in real time, viewing all the changes made by each employee.

Aus Devsicht: Storyblok lässt sich sehr leicht in fast jedes Projekt integrieren und bietet Plugins für Nuxt 3, React, Angular, PHP 8, etc. Da die API überall gleich ist, können wir bei jedem Techstack problemlos mit Storyblok arbeiten. Durch den komponentenbasierten Aufbau können wir Komponenten über mehrere Spaces hinweg kopieren und verwenden.
What did you not like?
Ich persönlich finde die letzen UI Updates sehr unübersichtlich. Teilweise wurde das UI verschlimmbessert als verbessert. Ich hoffe, dass sie da noch auf mehr Feedback hören und das Ui wieder etwas bereinigen und weniger overloaden. Leider werden neue coole Features hinter der Enterprise Lizenz "versteckt".

Wie bereits in der vorherigen Antwort erwähnt, sparen wir mit Storyblok einiges an Zeit, weil wir Komponenten sehr leicht in neue Spaces kopieren können und so einen guten Start für neue Projekte haben. Der Visual Editor erleichtert auch die Arbeit, weil die Änderungen sofort sichtbar sind. Speziell für unsere Kunden ist das super, weil die Redakteure viel einfacher die Inhalte pflegen können.

Was wir an Storyblok wirklich super finden, ist, wie einfach es zu benutzen ist. Die Integration in unsere Projekte klappt reibungslos, und es passt perfekt zu unserem serverless Ansatz. Die Oberfläche ist intuitiv, sodass man auch ohne tiefes technisches Know-how damit zurechtkommt. Insgesamt macht Storyblok das Arbeiten für uns und unsere Kunden einfach viel einfacher und angenehmer.
What did you not like?
Wenn ich etwas als Nachteil nennen müsste, dann wäre es die Dokumentation in einigen Bereichen, wie z.B. der GraphQL API, die noch ein wenig verbessert werden könnte. Außerdem kam es nach einer größeren UI-Anpassung vor, dass es manchmal etwas schwierig war, bestimmte Funktionen wiederzufinden. Aber ich hoffe, das war nur eine einmalige Sache und wird in Zukunft nicht mehr vorkommen.

Es bietet im Grunde die meisten Funktionen, die man sich von einem CMS wünscht und das zumeist in sehr guter UX/DX: Preview von Contentänderungen, Releases, die man planen kann, einfache Änderungen des Content-Models, gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis

Einige Dinge sind noch recht verwirrend: Es wird darauf hingewiesen, dass man in einem Release editiert (und dass der aktuelle production-Stand ein anderer ist), aber wenn man innerhalb des Releases das Abschalten einer Seite vorbereiten möchte, nimmt man ohne es zu wissen, sofort auf production die Seite vom Netz (bzw. aus dem veröffentlichen Contentfundus). Auch kann man das Content-Modell nicht mit Releases ändern. Das wäre insbesondere für die Web-Entwickler wünschenswert, aber bisher konnten wir immer drum herum arbeiten.

What did you like?
Mit Storyblok sind wir in der Lage unsere Daten Objekte sehr schnell zu modellieren und können damit auch sehr schnell Content erzeugen. Mit der Hilfe der Content API können wir auf diesen direkt während der Entwicklung zugreifen und natürlich auch im Produktiv Betrieb verwenden. Features wie die Webhooks haben es uns erlaubt, die Apache Solr Suche sehr schnell in unsere Projekte einzubinden und den Content von Storyblok zu indizieren und durchsuchbar zu machen.
What did you not like?
Mir fehlt die Möglichkeit Content Ordner via Feldtype auszuwählen. Mir ist aber bewusst das wir dieses Feature via FieldTypePlugin einfach selber implementieren können.

Mit Storyblok können wir schnell Content für Webseiten und Apps bereitstellen. Es ermöglicht auch Benutzern ohne Programmier Wissen, schnell Content zu Modellieren und bereit zu Stellen. Neue Features lassen sich in kürzester Zeit umsetzen.

Storyblok ist sehr einfach in der Handhabung, sehr schnell verständig, übersichtlich und intuitiv. Als Neueinsteiger blickt man schnell durch, man kann auch Schülerpraktikanten nach kurzer Einweisung damit arbeiten lassen. Das Bausteinsystem ermöglicht es ganz schnell neue Landingpages zu kreieren. Auch können Seiten einfach kopiert und angepasst werden.

Leider ist es in den Darstellungsformen sehr limitiert. Man hat immer nur die üblichen Content Bausteine zur Auswahl und kann schlecht kreative Ideen umsetzen. Je nach Branche kann das ein Problem darstellen. Deshalb steht auch noch ein Kostenaufwand dahinter um neue Content Bausteine umzusetzen.

Ich erstelle Landingpages für unsere Website sowohl für die deutsche Website als auch für die internationalen Seiten. Man fuchst sich sehr schnell rein und wird in Sekunden zum Website Content Manager. Durch das einfache Zusammenklicken der Bausteine ist das Gerüst der Seite schnell gebaut und muss nur noch mit Inhalt gefüllt werden.

Beim ersten Einloggen in das Dashboard von Storyblok war ich von der übersichtlichen und klaren Benutzeroberfläche beeindruckt. Als Content-Redakteurin brauchte ich nur wenig Zeit, um mich zurechtzufinden, und das ohne vorherige Schulung.
Live-Vorschau ist ein Traum:
Eines meiner Lieblingsfeatures von Storyblok ist die Live-Vorschau. Es ist so einfach, Änderungen in Echtzeit zu sehen und genau zu wissen, wie sie auf verschiedenen Geräten aussehen werden.

Einstellungen sind kompliziert:
Die Einstellungen können verwirrend sein, insbesondere wenn es um detaillierte Anpassungen geht. Es hat einige Zeit gedauert, bis ich die genaue Konfiguration gefunden habe, die ich wollte.
Verwaltung erscheint unausgereift:
Manchmal stößt man auf einige Bugs oder Inkonsistenzen in der Verwaltungsseite des CMS. Während diese nicht immer kritisch sind, können sie den Workflow stören.

Bei Projekten, an denen viele Personen beteiligt sind, ermöglicht es uns, unterschiedliche Zugriffsrechte zuzuweisen und den Workflow zu strukturieren. Dies ist besonders nützlich, wenn viele Redakteure, Autoren und Administratoren beteiligt sind.

What did you like?
Storyblok vereinfacht die Verwaltung von Websites. Die übersichtliche Struktur erlaubt es einfache Änderungen schnell umzusetzen. Hierzu sind keine Programmierkenntnisse notwendig. Auch in Zusammenarbeit mit der IT funktioniert die Benutzung mittlerweile sehr gut. Die IT setzt größere Sachen um, die Anpassungen können dann vom Team umgesetzt werden.
What did you not like?
Wenn es in die Tiefe geht, ist man beschränkt. Besonders beim Design kann es kompliziert werden. Mitunter können Vorstellungen nicht umgesetzt werden.

Das Vereinen von mehreren Abteilungen. In Storyblok können IT, Marketing, Führung, Redaktion zusammen arbeiten. Kleine Änderungen im Wording können sehr schnell angepasst werden.

What did you like?
Storyblok is an incredible CMS, different than anything else. Combining the headless approach with a live preview. Relatively easy to setup, well written documentation and tutorials. Good UI. Great Image Engine and CDN. Incredibly generous free plan and excellent support. Constantly developing, but thoughtful and in the right direction, without breaking things. The new UI for example is a big step forwards.
What did you not like?
Getting logged out all the time after being idle. Editing experience on mobile is not that great, it would be nice to have a PWA or native app.
Which problems are you solving with the product?
As a headless CMS I don't ever need to care about updates and security issues in traditional CMSs.

Nach der Implementierung ist es einfach zu handhaben auch für Personen ohne Entwickler-Kentnisse. Discord-Channel mit Support finde ich sehr gut. Allerdings siehe negatives
What did you not like?
Es gibt einen Discord-Channel, allerdings werden nicht immer alle Fragen beantwortet. Auch nach mehrmaliger Rückfrage. Sehr viele veraltete Dokumentationen. Upgrade auf Version 2 war bisher nicht möglich. Nach Verwendung anderer Systeme wie Strapi haben mir die deutlich mehr zugesagt. Die Gratis-Version wurde abgespeckt und ist nicht mehr so gut.

Die Idee war ein einfaches Portfolio zu machen, dass jeder benutzen und sich über Netlify kostenlos aufsetzen kann. Menschen mit weniger Erfahrung ein CMS zu erstellen ohne die Notwendigkeit von Wordpress.

Die Dokumentation für Storyblok ist extrem gut. Es gibt eine Reihe von hilfreichen Artikeln und Blogpost, wie man Storybloks mit verschiedenen Frameworks nutzt, und welche Tricks und Kniffe es gibt. Auch auf YouTube finden sich einige Tutorials, die Storyblok behandeln, wodurch das Einarbeiten sehr einfach wird. Außerdem gibt es einen kostenlosen Plan, der ziemlich generös ist und für einfache Websites ausreicht.
What did you not like?
Bisher habe ich nichts gefunden, was mir nicht gefällt oder meinen Ansprüchen nicht genügen würde. Einzig der hohe Einstiegspreis (von Community Edition auf Entry) ist etwas negativ. Ich würde mir ein Pricing Tier dazwischen wünschen, z.B. für 30 - 50 Euro im Monat.
Which problems are you solving with the product?
Ich nutze Storyblok als CMS und betreibe damit eine Job-Platform. Dank der Managment-API ist es auch möglich, Content nicht nur über das interne CMS zu befüllen, sondern auch via API. Dadurch lassen sich forms für UGC einbinden.

Das Beste an Storyblok CMS ist zweifellos sein modularer Ansatz. Der Content wird in sogenannten "Blöcken" erstellt und organisiert, was es einfach macht, Inhalte zu bearbeiten und neu anzuordnen. Diese Modularität ermöglicht es, Inhalte auf eine Art und Weise zu erstellen, die für das jeweilige Projekt am besten geeignet ist.
Ein weiteres herausragendes Merkmal ist die Live-Preview. Während des Bearbeitens kann ich jederzeit sehen, wie meine Inhalte auf der Website aussehen werden. Das spart nicht nur Zeit, sondern ermöglicht auch eine präzisere Gestaltung.

Die Handhabung ist super einfach und total intuitiv! Hier wird wirklich zu 100% nach dem Prinzip „What you see is what you get“ gearbeitet! Auch die Pflege von SEO-Informationen wird hier direkt dort gezeigt, wo es hingehört und nicht irgendwo anders.
What did you not like?
Für mich war der Aufbau der Verzeichnisse bzw. der Projekte nicht ganz so intuitiv. Hier könnte man vllt verbessern.

Wir wollen zukünftig eventuell unsere Karriereseite mit Storyblock umsetzen. Ein Problem das mit Hilfe von Storyblock einfach gelöst werden kann ist die Mehrsprachigkeit.

Storyblok verfolgt einen modernen Ansatz als CMS. Es läuft alles flüssig und schnell. Die Oberfläche ist verständlich aufgebaut und die Doku solide.

Innerhalb des Unternehmens haben wir Shopware mit Storyblok verknüpft. Die Produktseiten bekommen die Inhalte über Shopware. Das klappt soweit gut. Für den unternehmenseigenen Blog-Bereich ist Storyblok sehr eingeschränkt in den Designmöglichkeiten. Als Redakteur hat man nicht viele Möglichkeiten. Als Entwickler so mittel. Es gibt viele Kleinigkeiten, die nicht zu Ende gedacht sind. Das mag daran liegen, dass Storyblok nicht auf den Einsatz als Blog-System optimiert ist.

Erstellung von Produktseiten, Landingpages und Beitrags-Seiten für einen Blog. Storyblok ist ein schlankes System, das gut in Shopsysteme zu integrieren ist.

What did you like?
Storyblok lässt sich einfach navigieren und bietet durch die Localization die einfache Möglichkeit, mit wenigen Klicks Content international auf der Seite zu publishen. Inhalte lassen sich in Modulen wiederverwenden und erleichtern mir somit die Arbeit sehr. Auch Bilder und Videos lassen sich mit wenigen Klicks (bspw. aus Cloudinary) einfügen und Ränder, Größe und Position anpassen. Rundum ein praktisches Tool, welches sich auch für Webshops eignet!
What did you not like?
Teilweise haben wir ein paar Hick-Ups, bei denen man direkt die eigene IT einbinden muss. Eine enge Zusammenarbeit zwischen Content Managern und IT-Team ist demnach ein MUSS für die reibungslose Arbeit mit dem Programm.

Das Tool dient uns als "internationales" Content Management System, welches die Erstellung von Websitecontent in diversen Sprachen für unterschiedliche Länder ermöglicht.

Ich arbeite seit knapp dreieinhalb Jahren mit Storyblok. Zuvor habe ich immer „enterprisige“ Systeme wie AEM oder CoreMedia genutzt. Im Vergleich dazu bietet SB natürlich weniger Möglichkeiten, aber für ein kleineres Redaktionsteam mir gesondertem DAM ist es sehr gut im Gebrauch. Redakteur:innen können sofort Änderungen nachverfolgen, die Nutzung ist intuitiv und easy. Beim Onboarden sind neue Kolleg:innen extrem schnell drin ☺️
What did you not like?
Gerade in der Zusammenarbeit mit Redakteur:innen, die noch nicht viel CMS-Erfahrung aufweisen, sind einige Dinge im System schwierig, beispielsweise, dass mehrere gleichnamige Bilder ohne eine Art Nachfrage direkt auf den Seiten hochgeladen werden können oder dass es gerade in den Anfängen der V1 aber auch V2 einige Editor-Bugs gab.

Unsere gesamte Website und auch unser Online-Magazin laufen über Storyblok. Das heißt, mein Team und ich lösen jegliche unserer Content-Probleme darüber. Am positivsten ist, dass es vor allem das Problem löst, dass auch Kolleg:innen aus Fachabteilungen ohne große Einarbeitung mitarbeiten können.

Die starren Rahmen von handelsüblichen CMS-Systemen können bei StoryBlok überwunden werden. Es ermöglicht technologische Freiheiten, die andere CMS-Systeme nicht mitbringen. StoryBlok speichert viele Elemente in der Block Library, sodass man diese Elemente immer wieder verwenden kann. Wir haben uns deshalb am Anfang relativ viel Zeit genommen, um sehr gute Grundlagen zu entwickeln, was sich richtig ausgezahlt hat, weil man dank dieses Fundusses nur noch sehr wenig programmieren muss und damit sehr effizient arbeiten und beispielsweise neue Seiten erstellen kann.
What did you not like?
Der Image-Editor ist eine kleine Spielerei, eignet sich kaum zum Bearbeiten von Fotos / Bildern im Web-Kontext. Das ist auch selten eine Anforderung an ein CMS. Die Einbindung weiterer Funktionen (Apps), die bei Wordpress über die Plugins geregelt sind, steckt noch in den Kinderschuhen. Die Auswahl ist in diesem Bereich noch sehr gering.

Storyblok macht sowohl unsere Entwicker:innen als auch unsere Content Creator glücklich. Einerseits bietet es die technologische Freiheit, andererseits dank des Visual Editors aber auch den Komfort beim Pflegen von Blogbeiträgen.

What did you like?
The editor is complete and allows the editing of all kinds of images online, in addition, it also allows you to fully edit a frontend system in a very few steps, it offers drag and drop tools that allow you to modify the frontend of all clients, in addition, I like which integrates with platforms like Shopify or Next.js and also with the Gatsby APIs. Also, I love being able to publish content intuitively and work together with my team, it allows me to edit entire interfaces together.
What did you not like?
Thete is not one thing I dislike about Storyblok. In general, this platform has behaved excellently and has allowed us to have a wide addition of all types of content, be it Fronted content or image content.
Which problems are you solving with the product?
It has helped me a lot since we do not have to make complex programming editions, thanks to this platform we have been able to edit the Frontend of our clients with a drag and drop tool, in addition, this has saved us time, since we have been able to save hours working on content editing.

Für Redakteure ist es vorteilhaft ihre Änderungen in einem visuellen Editor sehen zu können, was für ein Headless CMS nicht selbstverständlich ist. Durch den komponentenbasierten Ansatz lässt sich in der Entwicklung auch Atomic Design wunderbar mit Storyblok umsetzen. Dank der übersichtlich gestalteten Oberfläche ist es außerdem auch für Neueinsteiger leicht zugänglich, ohne dass diese sich erst lange in die Bedienung einarbeiten müssen.
What did you not like?
Man hat im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Headless CMS keine Möglichkeit Storyblok selbst zu hosten. Zudem ist es sehr teuer.

Die Anbindung von Storyblok als Headless CMS ermöglicht es uns, die Daten per API völlig frei und einfach strukturiert einbinden zu können, in unserem Fall haben wir gute Erfahrungen mit der Einbindung in Twig und React gemacht.

Am besten gefällt mir, dass man mit der einfachen Ordnerstruktur komplexe Seitenstrukturen und Inhalte bilden kann, die auf alle Anforderungen der Redakteure mittlerweile automatisiert eingehen. Der Visual Editor ist nicht mehr wegzudenken und ein absoluter Pluspunkt von diesem CMS. Unsere Redakteure schätzen das live Bearbeiten sehr und können so verhältnismäßig schnell Ihre Inhalte erstellen.
What did you not like?
Durch unser Projekt sind wir oft auf Herausforderungen gestoßen wie flexible Header / Footer Menu Strukturen, hier wäre ich über eine definierte Gestaltungsmöglichkeit von Storyblok dankbar. Zum Beispiel mit noch mehr Datentypen.

Wir verbinden mit Storyblok einen Onlineshop mit klassischen Landingpages wo verschiedene Produkte beworben werden können oder auch simple Content Seiten erstellt werden können. So können wir mit einem System alles ausschöpfen.

Nothing, because it doesn't work. It doesn't do what it says and therefore, there's nothing to like about this CMS product.
What did you not like?
This product has cost our business countless hours and resources in implementation due to its unparalleled level of bugs. They have a V1 and V2 beta. However, neither V1 or V2 work. Both our team of editors and developers have been rage clicking the platform for weeks now, trying their best to implement it, only to be met with one bug after another. This is expensive software and there are far better options than this. Don't waste your time and resources like we have.

It was supposed to solve our CMS problems but it hasn't done that at all. It's really slowed us down.
