The main thing I liked about Storyblok is the excellent integration it has for Headless API, this way you can extract new content in a very simple way and be able to use that content in the new landing page that the user is creating, I love being able to integrating this platform with services such as RESTful and GraphQL has allowed for easier content creation. Storyblok allows you to work as a team in a very simple way, it is a platform that greatly benefits the workflow and allows you to work as a team within the same landing page, it also allows you to manage versions of each landing page. Storyblok also integrates perfectly with additional plugins such as CRM, Marketing or SEO, this helps a lot of control all the performance of the landing page that we have created for the client.

What did you not like?

I have never had any type of problem with Storyblok, our company has created content for our potential and returning clients without any type of problem, we have never had any type of interruption during the creation of content and that has resulted in a complete and positive experience for us, I'm glad I haven't had any crashes while using Storyblok in my business.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Our company TekzoTech has been able to grow exponentially in the creation of content and that is thanks to the magnificent work that we have been able to do with the help of Storyblok, our clients have been able to establish a better CMS for all their companies, they have been able to use their landing pages better due to the great use they have had in each site we have created for them. For now, I'm happy with that Storyblok has given me and the simple way it has given me to create content in a perfect and diversified way. Storyblok allows us to adapt the tools to any sector of our clients, this helps us create content for different sectors without any limit. Our goals is to have more years using Storyblok because of the rapid benefits it provided us in creating content for our MSP clients.

What did you like?

In our company, the use of Storyblok has become almost essential for us, due to its great utility for our Web Development service. We use Storyblok to be able to have a CMS system capable of meeting the demands of our clients. One of the main attractive factors for me is that Storyblok has the ability to benefit teamwork, in this way we have been able to work on the same Landing Page between the different employees of my IT company. We constantly receive new requests for Web Development and Web Management, where we have to design new pages for some websites, and this CMS platform has allowed us to design these new pages in a matter of hours, without complications and working together. Another feature that stands out is its ability to integrate with many modules at once, we have been able to integrate it with MySQL and Python databases, in addition, use the Next.js idioms and many others. In addition, Storyblok has an impressive AI that makes our work much easier when designing a Landing Page, since it helps us add content in just seconds.

What did you not like?

I have liked absolutely everything about Storyblok, I haven't noticed any negative feature about this platform, it is important to highlight that it has been very useful to be able to carry out most of the work we receive in our Web Development area. In general, Storyblok has behaved wonderfully and has provided perfect functions, functions that do not have any type of error when running, in addition, we have not had any type of interruption during the work together, which makes this platform not have any type of error or anything that we do not like about it.

Storyblok has solved problems in a notorius way in our company, previously we struggled to be able to design quality content, unique content on new landing pages, however, after the arrival of Storyblok this has changed completely, thanks to its AI system, we have been able to design unique content, with unique images, unique text and unique ideas. Overall, Storyblok has come to provide varity when it comes to designing new landing pages for all of our clients who trust us when requesting web development services. I'm satisfied with the results provided by Storyblok and the way it has helped me build a larger portfolio of clients for web development.

What did you like?

One of the main things I have come to like about Storyblok is how seamlessly it integrates with most of the services we use for web development at our company, we currently use Next.js, Node.js, Python and MySQL as the main services for website creation and management, and it is amazing how all of these services can be integrated with the Storyblok platform in just a few seconds to facilitate content creation. I liked how Storyblok allows me to create new landing pages, add new languages to a website, design a landing page and test it on different devices before sending it to the client, it also allows me to manage all the elements of a landing page, adding new elements, testing compatibility and much more. Overall, I like Storyblok because it allows me to offer a professional service during the administration, maintenance and new creation of websites for our clients.

What did you not like?

Despite the different plans Storyblok offers, I think the prices for each of the plans should be better. Currently in our IT company we have made a lot of profits from web development thanks to Storyblok, and we have obtained very good profits, but I think the price we currently pay to use Storyblok is a bit high, I would like lower prices for my Storyblok plan.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Storyblok has been a very beneficial service for our company, specifically for our web developer area, as this platform has allowed us to design quality content without having to use manual programming so much. This platform allows us to use a drag and drop system in conjunction with programming to generate better landing pages, a better CMS and greater customer satisfaction. We currently have more than 50 clients form whom we manage their business websites to add new content for their potential clients, and I must admit that Storyblok has played a very important role in managing the websites of more than 50 clients, as we can offer unique content, new landing pages with easy creation and maintenance, with easy access and with infallible creativity. I'm very grateful to Storyblok for allowing me to have such a realiable CMS system, in which I can offer better content creation for clients who trust our MSP services.

For us, content management is relatively important, because the most important business factor is our website. Storyblok has been an excellent service to be able to carry out this content management efficiently, mainly because we have been able to generate content jointly, Storyblok has allowed us to work collaboratively, generating new content, landing pages and new sections four our website with joint participation, this helps us finish the generation of content in less time. Another feature that I liked about Storyblok is that it has a way to integrate with the most web administration platforms such as Wix, GoDaddy, Joomla, Ghost, Squarespace and many others. This integration has allowed us to create content after generating content, have a perfect gateway for the transfer of content, a totally stable gateway that allows our content to be positioned on a new landing pages in a matter of seconds. We have been using Storyblok for more than a year and I haven't really noticed any type of failures within its operation for the generation of constant content for our website, the platform in general has behaved in a very positive way during all this time and it has encouraged us even more to generate content weekly. I do not have any type of complaint about the services offered by this platform, its operation has been stable and secure, keeping the entire generation of content completely secure and encrypted.

Our real estate company must constantly make new changes to the website because we are constantly publishing new properties, new real estate offers and new commercial services, which is why Storyblok has played a very important role for us, due to its effectiveness to make these types of changes. With this platform, we have been able to generate content from scratch and in a safe place without having to make these changes directly from the database of our website. This allows us to create content in a stable way and perform several tests to know if it has been integrated correctly the new content to the website, without needing to publish the changes to the website. Carrying out these content tests helps us detect errors in time, failures in the creation of new content and many more things. Storyblok has been quite beneficial for us and had allowed us to generate changes in the publication of new properties in our listing without making the changes from the original database.

Insbesondere der Visual Editor begeistert: Sobald ein kleines Snippet auf der eigenen Webseite eingebunden ist, kann eine Vorschau der jeweiligen Seite in Storyblok angezeigt werden und gemachte Änderungen werden sofort sichtbar. Damit ist gleich zu sehen, ob eine Überschrift passt und wie bspw. Bild/Text-Kombinationen angezeigt werden, ohne dass die Seite online gestellt werden muss. Ebenfalls nützlich sind Kommentar- und Freigabe-Funktionen, die ab dem "Business"-Plan freigeschaltet sind. Auf Entwickler:innen-Seite bietet Storyblok sehr viele Freiheitsgrade, um eigene Vorlagen und Komponenten anzulegen. Ein eigener App Store und die Content API bieten weitere Möglichkeiten für alle, die mehr Zeit investieren können bzw. tiefer mit Storyblok integrieren wollen. Der konsequente Ausbau der Funktionen und der Dokumentation in den letzten 1-2 Jahren gibt mir den Eindruck, dass das Storyblok-Team noch längst nicht am Ziel ist, sondern konsequent ergänzt und optimiert, um ihren Kund:innen weiter die beste Lösung anzubieten.

Man merkt: Storyblok ist auf kleinem Niveau gestartet und legt erst richtig los. Die Lernkurve der initialen Implementierung war bei uns zunächst beachtlich, da das eigene Frontend keine Standard-Bibliothek wie React, Nuxt, ... war, sondern von uns selbst angebunden werden musste; dabei hatten wir anfangs kleine Probleme, die richtigen (aktuellen) Artikel in der Knowledge Base zu finden. Unterstützung beim Onboarding kann nicht bei Storyblok eingekauft werden (- die Liste der "Solutions Partner" ist mittlerweile aber länger geworden). Und: das App Directory wirkt etwas merkwürdig - ein Papierkorb für gelöschte Einträge oder eine Funktion zum Ersetzen von Assets ist als App umgesetzt. Genauso finden sich dort z.B. Anbindungen für Asset Management mit Cloudinary und Bynder, jedoch nicht für andere Anbieter - schön, wenn man genau diesen Dienst nutzt, aber ohne weiteren Wert falls nicht.

Wir lösen ein selbst gecodetes rudimentäres CMS aus unserem Backend mit Storyblok ab, um Zeit bei der Erstellung von Kampagnen- und Info-Seiten zu sparen, und dieser Plan geht bislang fast vollständig auf: Nutzer:innenverwaltung, Freigaben und Asset Management werden vollständig von Storyblok beigesteuert, steigern die Zufriedenheit im Content Team und entlasten das Dev Team deutlich. Nach dem initialen Push migrieren wir seit ca. 12 Monaten Schritt für Schritt auch weniger wichtige Content-Seiten zu Storyblok, was durch das "Block"-Prinzip sehr gut klappt: Sobald eine neue Komponente aus unserem Design System in Storyblok hinterlegt ist, kann das Content Team eigenständig daran gehen, passende Seiten zu migrieren und anzupassen. Alle Seiten, die bereits von Storyblok verwaltet werden, können nun mit sehr viel weniger Aufwand betreut werden - das klappt so gut, dass sogar die Start-Seite unseres Shops nun über Storyblok verwaltet wird.

Als Entwickler kann ich schnell einen Space aufsetzen und bereits in kurzer Zeit den Kunden onboarden. Der visuelle Editor erleichtert den Workflow für Kunden enorm und durch den modularen Aufbau des CMS können Komponenten für den Kunden maßgeschneidert erstellt werden. Kurze Abstimmungsphasen durch intuitive Bedienung. Gibt es mal komplexere Anforderungen können eigene Plugins oder Erweiterungen geschrieben werden.

Aktuell gibt es noch keine Möglichkeit Endnutzer zu authentifizieren. Ich denke da an eine Art Community Management. CMS Systeme wie Wordpress oder Strapi bieten diese Möglichkeit bereits. So könnte man beispielsweise Content für bestimmte Nutzergruppen freigeben. Aktuell müssen wir dabei auf Drittanbieter wie Google Firebase, Supabase oder Auth0 ausweichen.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Durch Storyblok entfällt die Wartung und das Hosting des CMS. Ich muss nicht wie bei anderen CMS-Systemen eine eigene Infrastruktur vorhalten und Updates etc. einspielen. Außerdem können Kunden die Pläne selbstständig erweitern. Der visuelle Editor und das faire Preismodell waren und sind für uns und unsere Kunden das beste Argument sich für Storyblok zu entscheiden.

Das Interface von Storyblok V1 ist für einige unserer Kunden etwas knifflig, aber die V2 verspricht hier eine deutliche Verbesserung. Auch das Auflösen von Beziehungen mit der Funktion "resolve relations " kann bei komplizierten Komponenten etwas tricky sein, aber auch dank Top Dokumentation gut machbar.

Wir hatten bereits eine bestehende Website, die wir mit dem Backend-Framework Laravel entwickelt haben. Dies war jedoch für die regelmäßige Aktualisierung der Inhalte nicht praktisch. Die Integration mit Storyblok zur Erstellung dynamischer Inhalte war ziemlich nahtlos. Die Ladezeiten haben sich durch die Bereitstellung von Inhalten durch Storyblok erheblich verbessert. Der Imageservice ist ebenfalls hervorragend, man muss sich kaum Gedanken über die Größe und das Format der verwendeten Bilder machen.

Storyblok zeichnet sich durch eine gute Benutzerführung im Backend aus. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Headless Content Management Systemen bietet Storyblok die Möglichkeit, einen Seitenbaum hierarchisch anzulegen und einfach zu generieren. Mit der Version 2 vom Content Editor ist auch das "In-Page" Bearbeiten deutlich einfacher geworden und hilft technisch nicht so versierten Content-Editoren, die Seite leicht und verständlich zu bearbeiten, da der Editor direkt sehen kann, was seine Änderungen im Frontend für Auswirkungen haben.

Storyblok liefert wie viele andere Systeme Bilder über ein Content-Delivery-Netzwerk (CDN) aus. Ebenso besteht die Möglichkeit, dort Bilder direkt zu beschneiden. Allerdings ist die Beschneiden-Funktion etwas holprig. Entweder, es müssen Fokuspunkte gesetzt werden oder aber es gibt einen "smarten" Modus, der allerdings auch gerne mal daneben liegt. Es wäre super, wenn der smarte Modus mit dem Fokus-Punkt-Modus kombiniert werden könnte um so bestmögliche Ausschnitte zu gewährleisten.

Storyblok agiert in unseren Projekten als Content-Hub. Es werden also alle Inhalte dort angelegt und verwaltet. Über die API laden wir die Daten in unsere Anwendungen. Das können klassische Webseiten sein, aber auch mobile Apps, Voiceskills und andere Interfaces.

Für kleinere Projekte eignet sich das Produkt aufgrund vergleichsweise hohen Implementierungsaufwands häufig nicht - ohne Entwickler geht es ohnehin nicht. What did you like?

Ich bin so froh, dass es Storyblok gibt. Das meine ich auch so wie ich es sage. Ich hatte bisher immer das Problem, dass alle Kunden immer nur Wordpress & co möchten. Ich aber mit modernen Frontend-Technologien arbeiten möchte (Vue/Nuxt). Das hat bis jetzt nie richtig zusammengepasst. Durch Storyblok habe ich die Möglichkeit, Kunden ein komplett customizable CMS anzubieten, welches gleichzeitig für mich wahnsinnig flexibel und einfach einsetzbar ist, und es mir erlaubt, meine Projekte & Aufträge endlich so zu bauen, dass ich spaß daran habe. Dadurch, dass man Blöcke (bzw. Komponenten) so frei gestalten kann wie man möchte, lässt sich ein komplett eigenes Produkt kreieren, welches der Kunde später immer noch frei bearbeiten kann. Und das ganz ohne Wordpress-Template-Spaghetti-Code. Und durch den Free-Einsteiger-Tarif, gelingt es mir, auch Kunden mit schmalem Geldbeutel davon zu überzeugen. Ein vergleichbares JAMStack-CMS mit Visuellem Editor kenne ich nicht. Bravo!

Ich würde mir neben Blöcken auch weitere Datentypen wünschen. Z. B. um soetwas wie einen Customizable Header umzusetzen. Auch haben die Kunden eigentlich alle Probleme mit der verschachtelten Navigation. Ich finde es schade, dass es in der Free-Variante keinen Dev-Account gibt, sodass mein Kunde die Seite bearbeiten kann und ich immer noch Admin-Rechte besitze. Es gibt sicher noch die ein oder andere Kleinigkeit, die ich verbessern würde. Aber mir fällt gerade nichts mehr ein. Daran sieht man wohl, Storyblok ist ein rundes Produkt, und ich bin froh, es gefunden zu haben. :)

Wie oben beschrieben, ich kann nun endlich Komplett Customizable Lösungen anbieten, der Kunde kann immer noch seine Inhalte selbst bearbeiten, und ich kann endlich moderne Frontend-Technologien benutzen, statt mich mit Wordpress PHP Templates ärgern zu müssen. Die geschwindigkeit, leichtigkeit und anpassbarkeit bis in letzte Detail überzeugen mich.

What did you like?

Storyblok ist ein typisches Headless CMS, das seine Daten nicht primär an eine Seitenstruktur knüpft, sondern mehr wie eine Art Datenbank agiert. Dort kann man seine Daten nach Typen (Komponenten genannt) getrennt ablegen und auch miteinander verknüpfen. Die Möglichkeit, über APIs nicht nur lesend (Content Delivery API), sondern auch schreibend (Management API) auf diese strukturierten Daten zuzugreifen, ermöglicht eine angenehme (und nach meiner Erfahrung auch stabile) Integration in eine Anwendung. Die Nutzungslimits für die APIs sind dabei so großzügig, dass man auch im kostenlosen Angebotspaket lange Zeit nicht an Grenzen stößt. Für die Generierung statischer Seiten mit Gatsby ist das mehr als Ausreichend. Für selbige, sowie für viele weitere weit verbreitete Frameworks gibt es bereits fertige Starter-Kits. Die Nutzungslimits der APIs erlauben es mir sogar, dass die Nutzer meiner Webseite Inhalte (z.B. ihr Profil) manipulieren und in Storyblok persitieren können.

Leider ist das Source-Plugin für Gatsby nicht allzu angenehm implementiert. Dort kann man den Inhalt eines Datensatzes nur als ein in einen String zusammengefasstes (stringified) JSON-Objekt abfragen. So lassen sich die Möglichkeiten von GraphQL leider kaum nutzen. Aber ein einfacher Fork und ich konnte mir das Plugin anpassen und bin bisher sehr glücklich damit. Leider lassen sich zudem bi-direktionalen Verbindungen zwischen Datensätzen nur umständlich und fehleranfällig abbilden: Man muss eine Verbindung (Referenz) immer doppelt anlegen, 1x am Quelldatensatz und 1x die Rückverbindung am Zieldatensatz, sofern man von beiden Datensätzen aus auf das jeweilige referenzierte Gegenstück zugreifen möchte.

Im Endeffekt lege ich ein Gruppenverzeichnis für Kleingruppen im deutschsprachigen Raum mit Hilfe von Storyblok an. Die Gruppenleiter können dabei die Verwaltung dieser Gruppen (und ggf. Zusammenhänge zwischen den Gruppen über gemeinsame übergeordnete Organisationen) eigenständig Pflegen, ohne dass ich ihnen dafür ein Storyblok-Benutzerkonto anlegen muss. So kann ich mit nur einem Storyblok-User (und der Integration einer Benutzerverwaltung über Google Firebase) eine ganze Community über Storyblok laufen lassen. Bei Änderungen an den in Storyblok abgelegten Daten werden Seiten mit Gatsby (inkrementell) statisch generiert, die dann auf einen Static Site Hoster wie Vercel oder Netlify gehostet werden. So kann ich großen Funktionsumfang bei nahezu keinen Kosten erreichen.

One of the main things I liked about Storyblok is the way this platform allows me to use a much simpler visual editor, with drag and drop tools that allow me to create content in minutes and in an organized way, this also helps to see the order of all the content while I edit. Storyblok integrates seamlessly with Python, React and Vue.js services, this helps to make the visual editor much more complete with the integration of new APIs to the system. Storyblok allows testing a new landing page created before it is sent to our client's website, this way we can make sure that there are no failures or interruptions in the loading of the created content. Storyblok allows generating previous versions of each landing page created, which helps to recover essential data that has been previously deleted.

What did you not like?

Their PC version and web version work perfectly and make it a very complete platform, so our experience with Storyblok has been positive in all aspects regarding content creation, we have never had any type of problem when using this platform and generating quality for each of the clients who request our services. Storyblok has allowed us to design unique pages regardless of the clients sector, we adapt to the sector and create a landing page capable of attracting new clients and capturing the attention of visitors. Overall, Storyblok has helped a lot to make the CMS service we offer in our company even more known by more companies, we have created together, we have carried our A/B tests and performance analysis on each landing page created and we have also created a new content customization that allows us to adapt to various sectors and projects.

Using Storyblok quickly became a solution for our real estate company. One of the main things I liked was the different way I could create new content for my website, I was able to add new landing pages for my real estate site in a very few steps and with the integration of different programming frameworks it allowed me to create more complete and professional landing pages. I liked the way I was able to connect the Nuxt.js framework, use Mollie and AWS within Storyblok, the integrations played a very important role during my use of Storyblok because this allowed me to create a more complete website view for all potential clients and visitors. I liked the ease of creating CMS within Storyblok, this allowed us to quickly boost our real estate website.

What did you not like?

When I first started using Storyblok, I got a free version, but I must point our that this free version is not that nice, it doesn't allow you to access the API connection more broadly, and there is also a limit on the number of landing pages you can create in a given time. When I noticed these limits, I started using Storyblok Business, and the results were innovative, I haven't complaints about this version but I do think that the free version should be better.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

My overall experience has been fantastic since I started using Storyblok, this platform has brought excellent benefits to my real estate site due to its effectiveness in creating new nice pages for the sale of properties. Our company cares a lot about how eye-catching each landing page can be for clients who require a property, which is why Storyblok has helped us perfect our site and create new sections on our website that guarantee the comfort of all visitors. I'm grateful for the effectiveness that this platform has brought to the exponential growth of our company, we have noticed that our website traffic has improved exponentially over the last year and this has been since we started improving our site with Storyblok. Our goal is to use Storyblok for more years and in the long term.

Für Einsteiger*innen ist es leicht, den Umgang mit Storyblok zu lernen und die unterschiedlichen Funktionen kennenzulernen. Außerdem finde ich, dass man selbst eine sehr übersichtliche Struktur erstellen kann. Die netten Update Pop-Ups gefallen mir auch immer gut, vor allem weil man sich zwischen einer Quick Tour und einer ausführlichen Beschreibung entscheiden kann.

Wenn man tiefergehend mit dem Tool arbeitet, läuft viel auf Trial&Error hinaus. Die Bezeichnungen der Content-Blöcke und Funktionen sind nicht eindeutig und können deswegen nur durch ausprobieren und langes Arbeiten mit dem Tool identifiziert werden.

Wir organisieren mit Storyblok den Content unserer Website, aufgeteilt in sämtliche Seiten und Landingpages. Die Vorteile sind, dass man hier einzelne Komponenten anlegen kann, die sich auf unterschiedlichen Seiten wiederholen und deswegen nur einmalig angepasst werden müssen. Zudem ist die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Content und Tech sehr gut vereinbar in Storyblok.

Leider gibt es keinen Bereich in dem extra config optionen hinterlegt werden können je space die nicht als Content aufscheinen sollten.

Kunden Webseiten mit einfachen oder auch sehr spezifischen Ansprüchen werden sehr leicht abgedeckt. In unserer Produktentwicklung, kann steht auch auf Storyblok gezählt werden um die meisten Anforderungen zu erfüllen. Die Nutzung bringt zahllose Vorteile, da die Erweiterbarkeit nicht beschränkt ist. Selbst DXP & eCommerce Systeme oder mobile Apps zu bespielen ist kein Problem.

Der Visual Editor bietet neben der klassischen Contentpflege einen echten Mehrwert. So bietet die Live-Vorschau die Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten, die sich ein CMS Anwender wünscht. Der Image-Service zur Aufbereitung der Bilder im richtigen Format, sowie die App-Erweiterungen innerhalb von Storyblok bieten eine intuitive Content-Pflege für Anwender mit jeglichem Erfahrungsgrad. Die gute Benutzerführung im System geht bei der Erstellung der Komponenten und Blöcke weiter. Durch einfache Konfigurationssettings kann jede Komponente flexibel gestaltet. What did you like?

Die Erstellung von Inhaltstypen und deren Präsentation über die API ist sehr gut. Die Schnittstelle ist wahnsinnig schnell und führt zusammen mit den sehr leistungsfähigen Komponenten und Blöcken zu einem exzellenten Workflow. Aus den Daten die über die API geliefert werden, ist es möglich sehr schnell ein passendes Frontend zu entwickeln. Ebenfalls sind keine Programmierkenntnisse erforderlich.

Es ist öfter mal vorgekommen, dass die vorgenommenen Änderungen nicht in Echzeit geupdatet wurden. Ebenfalls funktionieren die Konvertierung von z.B. HTML zu Markdown nicht ohne weiteres und der Support konnte mir auch nicht immer zu weitergehelfen. Außerdem finde ich den Umgang mit Daten (Datenschutz) zu intransparent.

What did you like?

Da Backend von Storyblok ist sehr übersichtlich. Über die spaces lassen sich so in meinem Fall einfach mehrere Websites über eine Oberfläche verwalten. Des weiteren gefällt mir die Möglichkeit der Erstellung einzelner Components sehr gut. Die Vielfalt der out-of-the-box verfügbaren Typen für einzelne Bausteine (bloks), geht von Basistypen (Zahlen, Checkbox), Text-basierten Typen inkl. Richtext und Markdown über Asset Typen (Dateien, Bilder, Videos) bis hin zur Auswahl wieder eigener Bloks und erlaubt es mir so meine Inhalte exakt abzubilden. Darüber hinaus überzeugt mich die Möglichkeit per Storyblok JavaScript Bridge meine Inhalte headless in einer Vuejs-basierten Anwendung abzurufen und zu präsentieren. Die von Storyblok Mitarbeitern veröffentlichten Blog-Artikel wie z.B.: https://www.storyblok.com/tp/add-a-headless-CMS-to-vuejs-in-5-minutes sind dabei sehr hilfreich.

Bisher sind mir bei der Nutzung mit der 'Starter'-Subscription keine negativen Dinge aufgefallen.

Storyblok kommt zum Einsatz, um Inhalte unterschiedlicher Art ähnlich einem Blog mit News, Events, Berichten über Events für mehrere Websites zu verwalten. Die Vorteile, die mir Storyblok dabei bietet sind die Nutzung der Blocks, mit denen ich meine Inhalte exakt abbilden kann. Für Berichte zu Events kann ich so einheitlich den Kopf des Berichts mit Teaser und Autor Informationen abbilden, dann aber den Rumpf beliebig mit Text- und Bild-abschnitten aufbauen und ggf auch eine Bildergallerie einfügen. Per Storyblok-API (Storyblok JavaScript Bridge) beziehe ich dann die Inhalte und stelle sie über Vuejs-basierte Komponenten dar.

Ein sehr gutes Headless CMS mit toller Preview Funktion. Der Visualeditor vereinfacht die Zusammenarbeit mit den Redakteuren. Vor allem das arbeiten mit Bloks ist super angenehm, so können alle Anforderungen der Redakteure und Designer umgesetzt werden. Atomic Design lässt sich super durch die Blöcke umsetzen.   Durch eine Ordner-Struktur können wir Inhalte analog zur Webseite aufbauen. So finden Redakteure sich schnell zurecht.   Auch der Support ist sehr gut, man bekommt schnell und kompetente Hilfe.

What did you not like?

Der größte negativ Punkt war komplexe Komponenten verständlich für Content-Pfleger darzustellen bzw. Aufzubauen. ( wie vermutlich aber auch bei jedem anderen Headless CMS)  Manuelle Implementierungen für Stage / Testsysteme notwendig.

Zusammenarbeit zwischen Entwickler, Designer und die Anforderungen der Redakteure unter einen Hut zu bringen. Wir können immer auf unser Atomic-Model setzen, und Bloks dementsprechend aufbauen. Auch das sich weder wir oder der Kunde um Wartungen, Updates oder Hosting kümmern müssen.

Die meisten Headless-CMS bieten eine flache Darstellung von Objekten. Dadurch ist die Verwaltung von hierarchischen Inhalten wie der Seitenstruktur einer Website nicht optimal gelöst. Dies macht Storyblok deutlich besser. Hier wird zwischen Stories ("Seiten") und Content Types ("Seiteninhalten") unterschieden. Ebenfalls nicht selbstverständlich für ein Headless-CMS ist die Möglichkeit eine Preview zu integrieren.

What did you not like?

Die Darstellung wirkt sehr altbacken und könnte optisch deutlich hübscher sein. Manchmal hängt die Website, weil Scripte über socket.storyblok.com nicht geladen werden können. Und dann muss man bei SaaS natürlich immer auf dem Schirm haben, dass der Anbieter morgen möglicherweise nicht mehr existiert. Das kann zu massiven Schwierigkeiten führen. Ich würde daher eine selbst gehostete Lösung präferieren, die Storyblok ja durchaus auch anbieten könnte. (Retool macht das so) Ich finde es auch schade, dass Richtext als Datenstruktur ausgeliefert wird und nicht als Markdown. Der Storyblok-Client kann dies zwar in HTML umwandeln, dies hilft für die Verwendung im nicht-HTML-Bereich wie Apps aber leider nicht weiter.

Storyblok kann hervorragend genutzt werden um Daten unabhängig von der Präsentation zu verwalten. Das ist optimal in einer modernen Microservice-Architektur, wo möglicherweise auch verschiedene Systeme auf denselben Datenpool zugreifen müssen um sowohl Website- als auch App-Inhalte zu pflegen.

Als Webagentur sind wir total froh darüber, Storyblok als CMS gefunden zu haben und unseren Kunden anbieten zu können. Als Entwickler fällt es uns mit Storyblok extrem einfach Komponenten basierte Seiten zu entwickeln und im Nachgang unseren Kunden zu zeigen, wie einfach sie die Komponenten selbst wiederverwenden können und Baukastenartig unzählige neue Seiten bauen können. Durch den Visual Editor fällt es unseren Kunden besonders einfach sich in die Struktur einzuarbeiten.

What did you not like?

Leider ist Storyblok noch nicht bekannt genug, so müssen wir immer etwas Überzeugungsarbeit Leisten, wieso unsere Kunden mit Storyblok besser dran sind als mit einem Klassischen CMS System oder einem der anderen Headless Systemen.

Durch das intuitive CMS Backend fällt es jedem sofort sehr einfach Storyblok zu nutzen. Andere CMS müssen erst erlernt werden, während wir bei Storyblok eine spielerische und sehr kurze Einarbeitungszeit beobachten.

Die Usability ist für mich als Entwickler als auch für meine Kunden sehr gut. Meine Kunden sowohl jung als auch alt konnten sehr schnell damit arbeiten. Vor allem die Schnelligkeit des Systems hat mich überzeugt. Keine lästigen Wartezeiten. Es ist zudem easy erweiterbar / veränderbar. Wenn ich ein Objekt erweitern möchte geht das ganz leicht. Ebenso wenn ein Feld verändert werden soll.

What did you not like?

Einziges Manko für mich war, dass ich das Gatsby-Image-Plugin nicht verwenden konnte.

Schnelle unkomplizierte Erstellung von Custom Content. Über die eigens "Stories" können Eingabemasken so erstellt werden, dass es keinen Content mit fehlenden Inhalten gibt. Zu dem weiß der Ersteller zu jeder Zeit wo er was eingeben muss. Ein weiterer großer Vorteil ist, dass der Content über mehrere Kanäle konsumiert werden kann im Gegensatz zu den klassischen CMS.

Wir sind von Typo3 auf Storyblok gewechselt und sind bisher sehr zufrieden. Viele redaktionelle Arbeiten sind wesentlich einfacher und intuitiver. Bei Fragen jeglicher Art steht einem der Storyblok Support (via Chat) zur Verfügung und antwortet in der Regel sofort. Die Preview Funktion ist super und auch die (eigen gebauten) Workflows nutzen wir sehr gerne.

What did you not like?

Wir sind mit einem Webshop (=1 Sprache) gestartet. Das Ziel ist in Summe 20 Sprachen dort zu managen. Schade ist, dass die Internationalisierungsprozesse (meiner Meinung nach) noch nicht komplett ausgereift sind. Beispiel: Rollen, um Berechtigungen einzuschränken, funktionieren nur teilweise und sind überarbeitungswürdig. Auch im Bereich Assetmanagement sind ein paar Funktionen noch nicht ausgereift (z.B. Replace Assets). Grundsätzlich hören wir von den Redakteuren bisher dennoch viel positives Feedback.

Die Contentpflege für 20 Websites in 14 Sprachen. Insgesamt haben wir pro Website ca. 300 Shopkategorien, die wir in Storyblok mit Content anreichern, sowie ca. 200 Magazin / Know-How Seiten. Für die Pflege nutzen wir sehr gerne die Presets, sodass wir mit einem Mausklick einen standardisierten Seitenaufbau haben.

Als Headless CMS sticht es schon mal aus dem Rest heraus. Dabei auch noch so effektiv gute APIs einzubauen und mit einem schönem grafischen Editor versehen kann es fast nicht besser werden. Das Beste dabei ist vor allem das Pricing, denn man kann alle Funktionen auch schon einfachst als Non-Profit nutzen.

Bisher sind mir keine großen negative Punkte aufgefallen. Eventuell könnte man Word Press like open Source Themes oder Plugins ermöglichen.

Mir gefällt der einfache Einstieg in das Ui, sowie ich die Entwicklung und integration mit den vorhandenen storyblok apis. Um unsere Infrastruktur auf mehrere Websiten zu skalieren konnten wir fast das gesamte storyblok setup über die zur Verfügung stehende API automatisieren.

Der Visual Editor ist das Kernstück von Storyblok, die Pflege von Content wird dadurch für alle Arbeitenden im System vereinfacht und effizient. Der Publishing Prozess ist super easy und geht leicht von der Hand. Gekoppelt mit dem Workflow Management wird auch sicher gestellt, dass nur Personen mit den richtigen Berechtigungen und nach erfolgter Review ein Livegang von Content erfolgen kann.

What did you not like?

Storyblok bietet eine Fülle an Möglichkeiten Content zu erstellen, ein leichteres Transformieren von einem Blok zum anderen wäre wünschenswert. Der Concept Room kann dort Abhilfe schaffen, ist aber vor allem beim Start hilfreich.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

Schnellere Time-to-market in der content delivery. Einfaches Onboarding neuer Personen in das System. Outstanding Usability für die Content Pflege.

What did you like?

The first factor or feature that I liked about Storyblok is the great way in which it has integrations with important platforms or services, achieving a perfect integration with .NET infrastructures, it allows integration with PHP and Next.js services as well as allowing the integration of all Javascript functions within the creation of CMS content. I liked the AI that Stotoryblok has used, this AI has allowed us to design very good quality content in an automated way and has managed to create very diverse content. Storyblok supports group work, which is very beneficial because we can create new content and landing pages for clients jointly and collaboratively with other colleagues. It is a very complete tool to design new content from scratch, this is fantastic.

What did you not like?

It has very few functions for image editing, this is very negative because it greatly limits the way in which we can edit images that will be inserted in the new content that we are generating, it would be great to be able to modify images in a more complete way in Storyblok. Storyblok cannot be used without an internet connection, which makes internet connectivity essential to be able to generate a new landnig page from scratch, it would be great to be able to use Storyblok without an internet connection.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

I must admit that Storyblok has been the most efficient platform we have had at the level of editing and creating Landing Pages, this CMS type platform has allowed our entire Web Development team to develop new content for all the clients who access our services, I'm very happy with the effectiveness that Storyblok has proven to have, this platform has really allowed the majority of our developers and I to establish content creation with the ease and integration of our important services such as PHP, Python, Next.js and others, this has made us scale our content creation even more. Our Managed IT services company will continue to use Storyblok to offer quality services in the web development of clients.

An Storyblok gefällt mir sehr gut die intuitive und benutzerfreundliche Oberfläche. Die Headless-Architektur bietet maximale Flexibilität bei der Gestaltung der Frontend-Entwicklung und ermöglicht die nahtlose Integration mit verschiedenen Technologien.

What did you not like?

Die Möglichkeiten der individuellen Anpassung des Backends sind im Vergleich zu anderen Headless-CMS etwas eingeschränkter. Die Dokumentation könnte besser sein und für komplexe Projekte mit sehr spezifischen Anforderungen könnte die Standardfunktionalität von Storyblok nicht ausreichend sein.

Durch den Healdess Ansatz können wir Frontend und Backend trennen. Außerdem ist die Benutzeroberfläche sehr inutiv und hilft uns bei der Content- Erstellung. Die Skalierbarkeit ist ebenfalls gegeben, sodass es auf zukünftiges Wachstum vorbereitet ist.

An Storyblok gefällt mir die klare Struktur und die Flexibilität, Inhalte komponentenbasiert zu erstellen und zu verwalten. Besonders hilfreich finde ich das Preview Feature, mit der Änderungen in Echtzeit angeschaut werden können. Der API First Ansatz ermöglicht eine einfache Integration in unterschiedliche Systeme, was für vielseitige Projekte ideal ist. Perfekt um einen modernen Frontend Stack nutzen zu können. Auch die Benutzeroberfläche ist übersichtlich gestaltet und erleichtert das Arbeiten damit.

What did you not like?

Was an Storyblok weniger überzeugend ist, ist die teilweise komplexe Einrichtung, die ohne technisches Vorwissen herausfordernd sein kann. Zudem könnten sich die Kosten bei größeren Projekten schnell steigen.

What did you like?

One of the first features I liked about StoryBlok is the fantastic way it automatically integrates with PHP and Next.js services, allowing you to get the most out of content creation and management of new landing pages. I love being able to create content with a drag and drop system while also being able to use programming code to create a new landing page, this helps me maintain diversity in the quality of content I create for my website.

What did you not like?

Being a programming and content creation platform, most of its features are quite complex to use, and there is no training section in StoryBlok where you can learn how to use the platform. I don't like the fact that the platform doesn't have training sections that make it easy for users to adapt to it.

Which problems are you solving with the product?

StoryBlok has allowed me to create a lot of new content and new landing pages for my company's entire website. I really love this CMS platform because it allows me to quickly create new content for my website. This has allowed me to bring new content to customers who visit our website. StoryBlok has allowed us to be collaborative when developing new content for the website. This platform allows us to store all the content we create together to continue editing it later. It also allows us to edit new content in real time, viewing all the changes made by each employee.

Der redaktionelle Ablauf für das Veröffentlichen von Stories & die Integration von Workflows funktioniert super. Auch die Darstellung, Konfiguration & Pflege von Modulen ist eine der Besten auf dem Markt.

What did you not like?

Einige Features sind leider erst ab sehr hohen Plänen verfügbar, sind aber auch für kleine Webseiten relevant. Das könnte man noch verbessern. (Beispiel: Conditional Fields & SEO Meta-Tags)

Das Hauptproblem, dass sich durch die Verwendung von Storyblok in den letzten Jahren lösen ließ, ist das Hosting & die Wartung von CMS-Backends. Ausserdem sind die meisten CMS sehr kompliziert in der Konfiguration & Pflege.

Aus Devsicht: Storyblok lässt sich sehr leicht in fast jedes Projekt integrieren und bietet Plugins für Nuxt 3, React, Angular, PHP 8, etc. Da die API überall gleich ist, können wir bei jedem Techstack problemlos mit Storyblok arbeiten. Durch den komponentenbasierten Aufbau können wir Komponenten über mehrere Spaces hinweg kopieren und verwenden.

What did you not like?

Ich persönlich finde die letzen UI Updates sehr unübersichtlich. Teilweise wurde das UI verschlimmbessert als verbessert. Ich hoffe, dass sie da noch auf mehr Feedback hören und das Ui wieder etwas bereinigen und weniger overloaden. Leider werden neue coole Features hinter der Enterprise Lizenz "versteckt".

Wie bereits in der vorherigen Antwort erwähnt, sparen wir mit Storyblok einiges an Zeit, weil wir Komponenten sehr leicht in neue Spaces kopieren können und so einen guten Start für neue Projekte haben. Der Visual Editor erleichtert auch die Arbeit, weil die Änderungen sofort sichtbar sind. Speziell für unsere Kunden ist das super, weil die Redakteure viel einfacher die Inhalte pflegen können.
