What did you like?
Instana ist ein Super tool zum Überwachen von Infrastruktur. Es können Pro Application oder Service beispielsweise die Gesamtanzahl der Calls, Die Erroneous Call Rate und Latency eingesehen werden. Auf Metriken können auch Alerts erstellt werden um Benachrichtigungen zu verschicken wenn etwas mit der Infrastruktur nicht in Ordnung ist. Außerdem kann beispielsweise in der Latenz sehen bei welchen Service die meiste Zeit aufgewendet wird. Ich könnte hier noch weitere Features aufzählen aber zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass Instana einen tollen überblick über die Systemlandschaft bietet.
What did you not like?
Es wird leider nicht immer die genaue Ursache für Latenzprobleme angezeigt und meinem Beispiel war die Datenbank das Problem weshalb die Latenz anstieg doch Instana hat diese Tatsache dem vorgeschalteten Service zugeordnet uns somit ging die erste Analyse erst einmal ins Leere. Es kann auch ohne Schulung zu unübersichtlich werden da der feature umfang riesig ist!! Diese würde ich dringend empfehlen bei Einführung. Die Kosten sind auch recht hoch für das Tool.

Instana bietet einen überblick über unser Gesamtsystem. Es schafft eine gute Übersicht auch für die Fachseite wie schell z.b. das System läuft.
