What is Ableton Live?
Live, from the Berlin software forge Ableton, is a Digital Audio Workstation (short DAW) specifically designed for (live) musicians. The heart of Ableton are the various Warp modes for time-stretching, which can be used to adapt practically any audio material to the tempo of the session. In clip view, complete live sets can be controlled loop-based. The included effects and instruments in Ableton are versatile and fulfill everything a sound engineer needs. In addition, thanks to the Max4Live interface, you can build your own effects and instruments or use creations from the community. Standard applications, such as recording and cutting audio material, are also easily possible. Midi and CV functions also make it easy to control external synthesizers and Midi interfaces. Ableton is available in 3 versions, which differ in the number of available tracks and the internal effects. the simplest version, the Intro version, is available for 79 euros, or you can go directly with the Standard version for 349 euros. The Suite with Max4Live costs 599 euros.
