The team
The Infographics team is Statista's newsroom. We are a group of experienced data journalists and graphic designers who create up-to-the-minute infographics on all topics relating to technology, business, politics and society, as well as entertainment and sports – for our media partners, our own newsletters, for Facebook or Twitter. Tasks
- You are responsible for Statista’s media relations and make sure that Statista is featured in relevant publications (digital and non-digital) on a regular basis. For that, you handle a network of journalists and other relevant media persons
- Be an expert writer and story-teller who develops press releases, blogs, interview responses, analyst-facing presentations and documents etc. with external partners and with minimal executive review. The craft of writing and communicating at high velocity is core to your day
- Engage with media and analysts as a primary stakeholder by building and maintaining trusted relationships; serve as a spokesperson, as needed
- You are part of the team developing the communication strategy, identifying the most relevant publications and defining key messages
- You work closely together with Statista’s social media team to make sure the main pillars of the communication strategy are represented on the most important own channels as well, possibly including C-level social media profiles
- Provide input into narratives to develop storylines and optimize PR results
- You are responsible for Statista’s reputation & crisis management
Requirements
- Clear and effective communication, writing and presentation skills
- You have at least 5 years of experience in PR and external communication
- You have worked for or with digital or platform companies comparable to Statista and are aware of their needs
- You worked for a PR agency or have comparable professional experience, (e.g. journalist for leading (digital-)media brands)
- You have a strong network of relevant journalists and other important media persons
- Excellent English skills
