Gregor Gysi is probably the best-known male face of Die Linke, a German political party, and has a seat in the German Bundestag as a directly elected member of parliament for the party. He has played a key role in building up the party since its foundation, including as parliamentary group leader. He had also previously built up the Party of Democratic Socialism after the fall of the Berlin Wall and tried to establish it in the West German states. In addition to his work as a politician, Gysi also works as a lawyer and podcaster. Together with former minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, he regularly discusses major current political issues in the successful show "Gysi gegen Guttenberg" (Gysi v. Guttenberg).
