From viral kicks to world news: Discover the brands and creators that dominated the TikTok charts this January

Every month, in partnership with Wecreate, we analyze the OMR TikTok Charts to see which brands and creators performed exceptionally well over the past few weeks. To be eligible for the ranking, profiles must have posted at least five videos during the month. Rankings are determined by the average number of likes a brand or creator achieved across all videos posted that month.

Team Predator or F50?

The podium for the most-liked videos remains as sporty as ever: in January, Adidas managed to deliver the most viral video. The concept was as simple as it was successful: the "perfect shoe" was chosen entirely by random chance. Just like the previous month, Red Bull secured second and third place—this time with a slalom battle between a figure skater and a hockey player, and a spectacular Formula 1 reveal.

Ahead of the Curve

In the brand category, the TikTok channel for Die Zeit took the lead this time. Throughout January, they explained complex topics ranging from protests in Iran and declining birth rates to Trump’s Greenland plans. This performance pushed them up five spots in the rankings. Other newcomers to the Top 15 included Transfermarkt, Adidas, and Sixt.

"Herr Anwalt" Claims the Top Spot

Among creators producing German-language content, the top spot is also held by a channel where users can actually learn something while scrolling through their feed. In January, the focus was primarily on the weather: Herr Anwalt covered school cancellations due to icy conditions, the Northern Lights appearing over Germany, and the storm "Elli." By doing so, he climbed five places to land at Number 1.
