As Head of Podcast for the European market, Saruul Krause-Jentsch is the architect behind the major audio trends at Spotify. Since 2020, she and her team have managed everything from production and curation to the most important creator partnerships. She had already demonstrated her feel for the market before joining Spotify: after positions at Condé Nast and Bertelsmann, she founded “Auf die Ohren,” the first German live podcast festival, in 2018 and advised companies as an independent audio strategist.
Long-form formats such as podcasts are growing – even though everything else is getting shorter and shorter. At the same time, the boundaries between video, social media, and podcasts are blurring – with enormous consequences for podcasters, listeners, and advertisers. How can you best monetize and leverage the trust and loyalty of the podcast community? What opportunities does video offer? And does EVERYONE really have to make videos now? This will be discussed by veteran creator Tim Gabel, who knows both worlds better than almost anyone else, and Spotify's Head of Podcasts for Europe, Saruul Krause-Jentsch, who will provide exclusive insights into the streaming giant's platform strategy and product innovations.
Millions of people tune in to the same creators week after week. For many, it’s part of their daily routine, whether commuting, working out, or cooking. But what actually drives that kind of loyalty? How do audiences turn into real communities? And what can brands learn from fandom that goes far beyond reach? Join Felix Lobrecht and Tommi Schmitt, hosts of Gemischtes Hack, Germany’s most successful podcast, alongside Saruul Krause-Jentsch, Head of Podcasts, Europe at Spotify, and Bridget Evans, Global Head of Advertising Business Marketing at Spotify, to explore how fandom is built and what it takes for brands to tap into it in a meaningful way.
