About the speaker

When James Waters started at booking.com in 2008, the company, now known as Booking Holdings, was arranging around 40 million hotel room bookings per year. Today, it takes just about two weeks to reach that number. Booking.com has grown rapidly over the past nearly 17 years, and James Waters' career has progressed as steeply as the business development during this time. In 2008, he began as a Business Analyst at the travel platform from Amsterdam, and today, as Chief Business Officer, he oversees all of Booking.com's global business activities, including areas such as product development, marketing, sales, technology, and customer service. It is the provisional peak of a career in which he has already held leadership positions in various areas of the company. This extensive experience helps him today in his role, where he continuously optimizes collaboration across the company and ensures that Booking.com consistently offers customers a first-class end-to-end travel booking experience.
