
Christine Strobl, born in 1971 in Freiburg, studied law and began her career as a trainee at SWR in 1999. After holding various positions within the organization, she took over as head of the Children's and Family Programming department in 2007. In 2011, she became head of the Film and Family Programming division, responsible for all fictional series, television and cinema films, "Tatort," and the entire children's and family programming for SWR Television, KIKA, and ARD. In 2012, she moved to ARD's subsidiary Degeto Film GmbH as managing director. Since May 1, 2021, she has been ARD Program Director, overseeing the joint program Das Erste and the ARD Mediathek. Christine Strobl is also a member of the supervisory boards of ARD Degeto and SportA, and since October 2024, she has been a member of the University Council of the University of Freiburg.
