Niels Rasmussen is Head of the Digital Services Unit at Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR). As Head of Digital, he is responsible for all NDR websites and apps, as well as NDR's social media presences. Currently, the development and implementation of AI strategies at NDR is one of his main areas of focus. He is also responsible for accessibility at NDR and coordinates accessibility within the ARD. Before joining NDR in 2008, Niels Rasmussen worked for ARD-aktuell, the editorial team of Tagesschau, germany’s most popular news program. As deputy editor-in-chief of tagesschau.de, he was jointly responsible for setting up ARD's central news portal from 1997 onwards. Niels Rasmussen volunteers as a board member of the Hamburg-based aid organization Hanseatic Help.
