Malik Ducard is Pinterest’s Chief Content Officer and responsible for setting the global content strategy for the company. He oversees teams responsible for everything from content production to external content, editorial partnerships and support operations—all focused on ensuring Pinterest continues to stand out as a platform for uniquely relevant, positive and authentic content from a diverse range of creators and content suppliers.
From his earliest days lugging a camera around his high school to capture stories and taking photos to document his childhood in the Bronx, New York, Ducard has embraced the joy of creating content and telling stories—a passion that animates his love for Pinterest and the rich tapestry of creators and content suppliers who make the platform so inspirational. That passion for storytelling has also informed his years of experience in content strategy, including in his previous role as Vice President of Content Partnerships at YouTube.
People don’t want to be told what to buy. They want to discover what they love on their own terms and build their own taste. And increasingly, they’re not searching with words; they’re searching with what they see: an outfit on the street, a room in a short video, a screenshot sent by a friend. But most of the internet is still built for keywords, not inspiration. In this keynote, Malik Ducard, Chief Content Officer at Pinterest, will share what Pinterest is learning from the next generation of shoppers and why visual search is becoming the future of shopping. He’ll unpack how Pinterest is using AI to help consumers answer one central question: “Does this feel like me?”
