The OMR Festival is finally back on 6 and 7 May 2025. At the Hamburg Messe, you will not only be able to meet numerous exhibitors, attend dozens of masterclasses and take part in side events - of course, exciting people from (digital) business, politics, culture and sport will also be speaking on the big stages. Also there: Ryan Reynolds.

The OMR Festival 2025 is getting closer and the program is filling up every day. In a few days we will publish the timetable for all stages, you can find all the names announced so far here. And if you’re interested in finding out which companies will be exhibiting at the festival, you can do so here. Incidentally, the same applies to this year’s OMR Festival: if you definitely want to be there, make sure you get your ticket early (and a hotel room if necessary) - so that you can also see this Hollywood star, entrepreneur, football club owner and agency founder...

Time for the next speaker: Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds has been acting since 1991. And when you take a look at his filmography, a number of productions that have long since achieved cult status stand out: Harold & Kumar, Blade: Trinity, Smokin’ Aces, Ted, early appearances in hit series such as The X-Files and Scrubs. Nevertheless, most people probably immediately think of one role in particular when they think of Ryan Reynolds: Deadpool. After a rather brief appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2009, the antihero from Marvel’s X-Men universe was given his first film seven years later. Reynolds put his stamp on the cheeky heavyweight in the red costume more than anyone else in the superhero genre before him - and got a billion-dollar franchise rolling in the process.

One quote after another, insider quips and allusions to his own biography and pop culture as a whole - from the very first trailer shown at Comic Con 2015, you could tell that not only the film itself but also the marketing was going to be different. In the promotional phase for the second part of the series, which was released in 2018 (Deadpool apologized profusely to ex-professional footballer David Beckham for a quote in part 1), this was consistently continued, and in teasers for the third part Deadpool & Wolverine, which was released in cinemas in 2024, Reynolds then mixed the role and his persona - and announced the sequel with fellow actor Hugh Jackman with a lot of self-irony.

This flair for humour and marketing can also be seen off screen when Ryan Reynolds is out and about as an entrepreneur. Whether legendary Super Bowl adverts for the telecommunications provider Mint Mobile (acquired by T-Mobile in 2023), social media campaigns and integrations in films from his gin brand Aviation Gin (acquired by spirits group Diageo in 2020) or a FX documentary series based around his takeover of Welsh football club Wrexham AFC.

Do you want to be in Hamburg on May 6th and 7th to hear Ryan Reynolds and many more speak on the big stages? Here’s the festival page with tickets and the full program.
