Rules for Respectful Interaction

We always welcome lively exchange -whether in person at our OMR Festival or digitally on our social media channels. We want to create a space where diverse opinions can be discussed respectfully. Criticism is explicitly welcome - provided it remains constructive. We therefore ask you to observe a few rules to ensure a respectful environment for everyone.

Where we draw the line

The following behaviors are not tolerated in comments and messages on our channels and may be subject to moderation:
  • Hate speech: disparaging, discriminatory, or dehumanizing statements directed at individuals or groups based on religion, ethnic origin, nationality, sexual identity, physical condition, age, gender, or other personal characteristics
  • Personal attacks: insults, verbal abuse, disparagement, or targeted hostility toward specific individuals—such as other users, speakers, guests, partners, or staff members
  • Threats: any incitement to violence against institutions, companies, or individuals (or groups thereof)
  • Statements posing a risk: content likely to endanger the public or specific individuals
  • Content harmful to minors: pornography, obscenity and other inappropriate content
  • Violation of third-party rights: publication of private information without consent (e.g. contact details)
  • Disinformation and demonstrably false factual claims: deliberately disseminated false or misleading factual claims intended to deceive or harm others
  • Third-party advertising: unsolicited self-promotion, commercial content, or misuse of the comment section for advertising purposes
  • Trolling & spamming: intentional disruption through repeated provocation, manipulation, and the stirring up of conflict, as well as flooding the comments with (nearly) identical content that contributes nothing constructive to the topic
  • Inappropriate links: links to external, unreliable websites or unverifiable sources unrelated to the original post

How we moderate comments

We reserve the right - depending on the severity of the violation - to hide or delete comments and to temporarily or permanently block accounts that repeatedly or significantly violate these guidelines.
Allowing a comment to remain posted does not automatically mean that OMR endorses its content. Furthermore, we reserve the right to amend this netiquette at any time at our own discretion.

Quoting your comments

By posting a public comment, you agree that OMR may quote or share it - citing your username - as part of communications on its own channels.
Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to respectful and constructive discussions!
