THE TEAM

Help us build the leading platform for one of the biggest tech events in Europe. At OMR we are hosting 70.000 people every year at one of the important digital and tech events in Germany. From visitor management to ticketing and payment, from volunteer recruiting to our festival app we are building a great variety of digital products that support this unique event and you can be part of it. We're growing fast, and with that comes strong demand to build more and more product features. To help meet our customers' evolving needs, our engineering team is looking for experienced full stack developers.

Our Tech Stack

  • Our stack is a Ruby on Rails backend with Vue.js, Nuxt.js and Typescript on the frontend
  • For the communication between frontend and backend and other backends we are using GraphQL
  • We’re running Elasticsearch to power our product and category search
  • As storage solution, we are using MySQL and Redis for caching
  • We are fully running on Kubernetes within Google Cloud and a fully automated CI Pipeline powered by GitHub Actions

 

YOUR MISSION

As an experienced full stack developer in our tech team, you will architect and develop products, which will improve the experience for festival visitors, partners and clients. We are looking for passionate engineers who are excited to solve problems at scale in a friendly and productive environment. The tech team is split into smaller product teams, each with its designer and product manager. We are mainly a remote team with different colleagues spread across Europe, with some of us working in Hamburg at the main office.

You will

  • Design, build, and maintain performant, reliable web services
  • Producing clean, high-quality code and testing for our features that helps our customers and users
  • Actively contribute to code and design reviews within the team
  • Contribute engineering input and feedback into product planning processes
  • Partner with fellow engineers in our team to accomplish projects together

YOUR PROFILE

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience as a (full-stack) software engineer
  • Proficiency with Ruby (on Rails), Database management at scale
  • Proficiency with Vue.js or another web frontend architecture like React or Angular
  • The willingness to learn and constantly improve your own skills, and are not afraid to jump into new things
  • Good communication skills and willing to talk with product management and you always keep the end-user in mind.
  • Experience with agile methodologies

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using Google Cloud Services, Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience with GraphQL in production systems
  • Experience with GitHub Actions
