Our Tech Stack

• Our applications are running on Ruby on Rails backends with Vue.js on the frontend
• For the communication between frontend and backend and other backends we are using GraphQL
• We’re running Elasticsearch to power our search in various applications
• As storage solution, we are using MySQL
• We are fully running on Kubernetes within Google Cloud and a fully automated CI Pipeline powered by GitHub Actions
• To safely and predictably create, update and improve our infrastructure we are using Terraform
• To have the infrastructure and our performance in view we are using Datadog as our APM / Logging tool

YOUR MISSION

As a DevOps Engineer in our tech team, you will architect and develop the infrastructure of OMR closely with other engineers. We are looking for passionate engineers who are excited about solving problems at scale in a friendly and productive environment. Our tech team is divided into smaller product teams, each with a designer and a product manager. We are mainly a remote team with various colleagues spread all over Europe, with some of us working in Hamburg at the main office.

You will

• Ensure availability, performance, scalability and security of our reliable shop infrastructure
• Drive the use of practices like continuous integration, continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
• Ensure the scalability of our flexible API solution by automating and standardizing the processes
• Take over responsibility for the availability and smooth operations of our infrastructure and stacks of existing and new OMR applications
• Supervise and monitor our infrastructure in staging and production environments
• Improve the creation, deployment and monitoring of our operations for multiple OMR applications
• Manage the resources and services in cost-efficient manner

YOUR PROFILE

• 3+ years of relevant work experience as a DevOps or DevOps related roles
• Profound knowledge in maintaining server Infrastructures with Kubernetes and Terraform
• Experience with Google Cloud or one of the major cloud providers e.g. AWS or Azure
• Proficiency in Linux OS and the ability to read and write code in Ruby
• Experience using different kinds of monitoring tools (e.g. Sentry, NewRelic, Kibana, Datadog)
• Understanding and interest in the security aspects of running a cloud infrastructure
• Eager to automate as much as possible
• Fluent in English both spoken and written
• The willingness to learn and constantly improve your own skills, and are not afraid to jump into new things
• Good communication skills and willingness to talk with product management and you always keep the end-user in mind

Nice-to-haves

• Coding Experience with Ruby on Rails, Vue.js or Nuxt.js
• Experience using a broad range of Google Cloud technologies
• Experience with GitHub Actions
• Experience with agile methodologies

ABOUT US

Behind the media brand OMR is the Ramp106 GmbH, a thriving  360° media company with a focus on digital business, marketing, finance, tech and new mobility. Based in Hamburg, Germany, Ramp 106 currently employs a year-round team of 200.

These include the online campus OMR Academy, our OMR Deep Dive seminar series as well as our OMR Reports, practice-oriented publications on current digital marketing topics which appear monthly.

OMR Jobs Team focusses on recruiting & employer branding topics. From the digital and marketing jobs platform OMR Jobs to our recruiting event and year-round employer branding campaigns and projects across all OMR channels.
